I'm so sorry. How scary it must be for them. Are there any other nations willing to help? Or are they only looking at the US and Canada?
This world is so fucked and I feel like nothing is being done to help save it.
It's impossible to get visas at this time in Iraq, my uncle has a son living in Sweden and there is no way to join him there either. and the surrounding countries are already flooded with Palestinians and whatever Christians managed to flee. I know Jordan has always been a favoured place for Christian refugees but I'm not sure they're accepting.
I was going to say that if they were able to come here on a travel visa, they could apply for asylum. But it sounds like visas are the problem. I'm so sorry. It's a terrible situation.

I'm not that impressed with Zoya polishes. I recently ordered three during the July 4th promo. I painted my toes today with one of the colors and it was super goopy and did not apply well. Another color was very streaky and needed a ton of coats. I don't get the hype. Essie for lyfe yo!
Some of my family are suffering in Iraq with the Chaldean Christian plight, and I want to help them. It's making me feel incredibly assholish that the refugee programs in canada and the states are not taking in Iraqis at this time. It's just frustrating when they call with hope in their voices and I have to tell them this isn't working. I'm really hoping the program opens again this yr, I think that's my UO, that it's closed and helping them is next to impossible.
I'm so sorry. I read an article about what ISIS is doing to the Christians in Iraq and I wanted to vomit. That type of oppression shouldn't happen anywhere and it really needs to be getting more attention in the US and Canada.
The article I read was buried on page 15 of the ny times and I just happened to stumble across it. Otherwise I wouldn't have even known it was going on.

I've never tried a Zoya nail polish, but I love Essie. My favorite one right now is For The Twill of It.

I agree about Zoya. The ones I've tried have sucked.
I don't like tattoos. Or lots of piercings. All my friends have or had their navels pierced, I'm the only one who hasn't.
I'm really square.
I don't like soda. My kids are not allowed it.
I also don't like Starbucks. Their coffee tastes burnt to me. I don't like those sugary coffee drinks either (which would cover up the burnt taste) I also prefer to support local/independent coffee shops. Though H informs me we have shares in Starbucks.. eh.
Yes, but I will drink their coffee over not having any coffee. I also heard they are going to start serving wine. That is a Starbucks drink I would enjoy.
It's been rainy and in the low 60s here for the last 2 days and I love it. I like more summery weather too but the peaceful sound of rain and the smell of everything so fresh and clean is really nice.

Sorry so negative today!
I agree with all of this except I think all coffee tastes like dirt and don't plan to try to develop a taste for it. Though I do "let" G have soda but she doesn't like it so it's a non-issue. I don't hate soda but rarely have more than a sip of DH's on occasion.
