We didn't create ours online, but took a class through our local community ed. taught by a local lawyer. He walked the class through what is needed in a will, gave us samples to follow, and during the week we were to write our own wills, and email him with any questions we had. The second and final session of class, he looked over our wills, and we signed, and witnessed each others will, and he notorized them. All we had to pay was the $40 class fee per person, and received the one on one professional help with any questions we had.
He also teaches a similar class for creating a living will, which my DH and I plan to take.
There is a financial forum I visit that preaches frugality. Even they say going to a professional is a much better idea than using software or an online service.
No. It was totally worth the peace of mind to us to go to a professional. The lawyer helped us think through so much more than just a will, and we're grateful for that.

Ok, another question - does H need to create a will at the same time? I know it will be impossible to make him do it as he won't discuss death etc at all plus all of our $$ is in accounts in my name or joint.

It would make things easier if he was involved. It's not a fun thing to do, but it does provide peace of mind knowing that it's done. I told H that getting our wills done before 30 will guarantee that we live until 93.
