I'm all negative today about, essentially, the entire universe. So I took a break and watched Neil deGrasse Tyson talk about his favorite physicist, Isaac Newton: www.youtube.com/watch?v=danYFxGnFxQ
Also, I got an email that there will be cake for someone's birthday today at 2. That's exciting. And I think it's my favorite kind of grocery store cake, with raspberry filling.
On the topic of desserts, I made myself a pie for my birthday on Tuesday. Unbeknownst to me, H also got an ice cream cake from my favorite handmade scoop shop. Its an OREO ice cream cake with a thick crust of cookies on the outside AND entire oreos on top. Its amazing. But blueberry peach pie is my favorite thing.

I bought maternity shorts to wear and I LOOOOVVVEEE them. I told DH I am never going back to real shorts even after I'm not pregnant. Real looking shorts with a stretching waist band FTW!
I went shopping yesterday alone, which I almost never do.
I got a pair of navy chino shorts at J Crew, which are my absolute favorite (suck it, haters) for 15$.I also had a birthday reward at Sephora and got a free mascara sample, which is pretty much my favorite makeup.
I have had some really good interactions with my mother this year. We have a pretty dysfunctional relationship and I've worked really hard the last three years to crawl out of this hole in a healthy and steady way.

I'm leaving town with five friends tonight to go spend the weekend at a lake cabin. Campfires and swimming (also, s'mores) make me feel better about a lot of things.
I have my cousin's daughter here for the week. She's 13 and I keep expecting the teenage hormones to kick in and her to be a little snark. Nope, she has been the sweetest kid ever. Every evening after dinner she has asked H to hang out and play board games with her. H passed on going out with friends last night to come home and play games with us. It was so sweet and adorable and my heart almost exploded. I almost don't want to take her home tomorrow.

We have ice cream in the freezer and I am going to have some in a little bit.
The kids (esp. the boys) have been very snuggly. But, DS#2 has been sleeping almost entirely through the night without waking up--this is huge. Now, he might wake up while I am in the shower or not long before my alarm goes off, but he'll go back to sleep.

We are going on vacation to a cottage in northern michigan for a week with three other families. We have gone three other times and this is the first time I won't be pregnant or nursing. I can't wait. Day drunk here I come!
1) I found a sitter for tonight and will be having some much needed adult beverages with some friends tonight.
2) After a near panic attack that I would be in NOLA on a girls weekend the same weekend my boss and our CEO would be there for an investor conference, I realized that we would just be ships passing in the night if at all. The conference starts the day we leave. ::bullet dodged::
I was watching the live coverage of The Games during lunch. It was the Master's division, men 60+. I wanted to high five every single one of them. These guys all in their 60s competing in a competition like that - they're just amazing.
My old boss called me and wants me to work again- one day a week even if that's all I can do and they will be flexible with me so I don't have to find childcare for P. I am pretty flattered and excited that I'll get out and do something "adult" at least one day a week now.
I was in an antique store this past weekend with my kids and we came across an old corded phone, not even one of the rotory dial ones! And my children didn't understand what is was. DS2 asked me if it was real.
I'm having a super delicious salad for lunch. Mixed greens and spinach with roasted chicken, roasted pears, grapes, bleu cheese, candied walnuts, and balsamic dressing.
It's about the only good thing I have going for me today.

Molly had PT today and was told we get to drop down to once a week - and will switch to every other week very soon. I got to cancel 8 appointments which equates to $240 in copays. This kid has blown everyone away with her recovery.
I just changed Mia's infusion site for the first time since we transitioned her to a new pump on Monday. I was concerned I would fuck up, but it was easy. Everything went exactly as planned and she barely cried. This pump is sooooooo much better than the last one. She can even bolus herself.
Tomorrow night is my 20 year reunion. And then I get up Saturday and head to St. Pete beach with my girlfriends, staying in a brand new boutique hotel, returning whenever we feel like it Sunday. We are all riding in my friend's minivan lol.

Today is good, because we have nothing planned. I think we will play and laze around, maybe do a couple of craft projects. I'm going to read during nap/ quiet time. Then, I'm looking forward to our weekend. Tomorrow is date night:anniversary edition. We have dinner reservations and a hotel booked for the night. My sister is staying with the kids. Saturday is one of my best friend's 40th birthday party. There will be jello shots, sangria, good food, and lots of friends and laughter. Lots of good stuff around here.
