Aww, that's great they have finished his upper jaw! The things they can do these days are so amazing!
Also, I feel your pain on the weirdness around you. Been in situations like that. What's with the highly personal conversations that you KNOW people can hear? I will never understand that. Hospitals are big...go wander off into a corner alone and talk about that stuff.
Best wishes for DS2's outcome and you and your DH, Sue!
I think hospital waiting rooms are one of the circles of hell. My dad went in for a hip replacement on Monday. After they put him out they found a skin infection, so they canceled the surgery. He still had to go through recovery because of the sedation. So we were sitting in the waiting room and the family across the room started complaining about how their mother was brought in early because of a cancellation and they missed lunch. It was all I could do not to throttle them.
I remember pumping while Charlotte was in open heart surgery. I could hear my mom and sisters laughing in the waiting room outside my door. It's not my right to limit what they could discuss, but... I felt a real lack of compassion and even more alone in that moment than ever.
I am so grateful that I was online IMing with a girlfriend at that time, I had her companionship and could bitch about the others without them knowing.
I'm so glad to hear his surgery is going well! I hope recovery is quick and that everything works out very well for him!!
I love eavesdropping on strangers conversations! It's my main source of entertainment while we're waiting for DH's appointments. Because I'm nosy as shit. lol.
People watching is the best at shopping malls and hospitals. I'm glad the surgery is going well. I'll be praying for him to heal quickly and without (too much) pain.
