I use a homemade cleaner of 1/3 vinegar, 1/3 water, 1/3 alcohol and a few drops of Dawn dish soap. When I was something that smells good, too I use Method's Almond hardwood cleaner.

Do you wipe this solution off with water afterwards or no?

Nope. The alcohol is in there to help it evaporate quicker. No wiping, and since it dries faster, less streaks. I like that it's pet and kid friendly. As long as they're not drinking it, there is nothing there I worry about them being around.

One more question...because I'm 5 years old....when you say 1/3 is that 1/3 cup? or just 1/3 in relation to the other ingredients.

Thank you, btw
In relation to each other. I just eyeball it all in a spray bottle. I found the recipe on Pinterest specifically labeled as a hardwood cleaner, but I use to to clean just about everything.
Word of warning about the vinegar/soap thing. One is an acid, one is a base. Mixing in exactly the right proportion results in water and a salt of some sort, and you're really just cleaning with water, which can clean up a lot of junk all on its own but is easier just gotten out of the faucet rather than making you own Mixing them haphazardly only partially neutralizes whichever there is more of, but you cut the cleaning power of whichever is left. Soap is great for scrubbing up dirt and vinegar is great for cleaning up soapy films. If I'm doing a really thorough mopping, I will do the Dr. Bronner's mixture then follow with a 25-50% vinegar mixture. That's rare because it's a pain. Most of the time I just try not to use too much soap so that I don't get a soap film and don't bother with a rinse mixture.
That's interesting. Where did you read that, I'd be interested to see. That must be why so many of these DIY cleaners call for Dawn dish soap and say other brands do not work as well. The Dawn must be made with different ingredients. Which is also why it's recommended for stripping cloth diapers, and other dish soaps are not.
Have you tried the Pinterest 50/50 vinegar and Dawn to clean showers and bathtubs without scrubbing? I have not, but my MIL swears buy it.

I roomba often and then I use the reveal mop with methods hardwood floor cleaner. I love the way it smells. I tried the homemade mixture but DH hated the smell.
I have been told not to use vinegar on my hardwood because it's bad for the finish. Our roomba runs once per day and I use a Bona mop with Bona solution.
I sweep nearly daily (my kids eat like animals), and bona when the floors need mopped. If I want to do more than sweep, but less than bona, I use vinegar and hot water
