I was hoping to see either "And Maggie Makes Three" or "Lisa's First Word". I melt when I hear Maggie go "da-ddy" (voiced by Elizabeth Taylor). Or when it shows Maggie's pictures covering a placard that covered letters and spelled out "Do it for her".
"Lisa's Pony" was a great one. The Godfather parody kills me every time. "He ate, he stole things, he was rude to the customers, but there goes the finest convenience store employee, ever."

Apparently they had to record Liz in several takes for that scene, because her breathy "Daddy" sounded too sexy for Maggie :-#
Oh! And how is Krusty Gets Kancelled not a part of that list too? At least for the nostalgic effect, as a good portion of those celebrities that appeared are no longer with us.

I LOVE that episode. "What I'd like is I'd like to hug and kiss you." SNORT. And the scene with Flea screaming "HEY MOE!" at the after-party is because they couldn't get Flea to stop screaming while they were recording the RHCPs's lines in the studio. And Johnny Carson's original storyline had him crashing at The Simpsons' place and refusing to leave, but he got all offended by that, so they had to kiss his ass and make him really talented and beloved to get him to stay in the episode.
In that aforementioned trivia contest, our team name came from that episode: "What's His Name, and Who's Its, and ... That Guy ... Always Wore a Shirt?" (Ed Sullivan? Yeah.)

I love that scene where they (Bart and Lisa) accost Bette Midler on the highway and she chucks the can at the litterer. "I'll get you for this, Bette Midler!"
Yeah, I have seasons 1-16 on DVD and I watch them all the time. Keep churning out those seasons!

That scene is hilarious. I love when stuff just randomly bursts into flames (like when Chief Wiggum was dressed as the beer stein at the DUI checkpoint and then rolled into a tree and exploded. Or when Homer kept burning Mr. Burns's breakfast and even the bowl of cereal caught on fire).
Watching reruns ... eh, I pretty much stop at anything past season 9. I'd actually be pretty happy if they ended the show in the next year or two, although I can't blame them if they want to try and make it to 30 seconds. That's pretty damn impressive.

Yeah, by season 10, for me, it started getting pretty weak. I wasn't a big fan of a few seasons. I thought 15 was terrible, but 16 made up for it. I haven't seen any episodes beyond 20 however as time started putting me in different locations when it aired. Plus the animation jars me in a way since they came out with the movie. When they moved to the "movie" style of animation, they kind of lost me. What was so wrong about the original format?

The switches in animation are so weird. Whatever they did to the "Radioactive Man" episode was really noticeable, to the point where it was almost distracting.

Here's a switch....what are the ten WORST episodes that you've seen? I didn't like "My Sister, My Sitter" because, to me, it went beyond funny and entertaining to downright annoying with Bart's antics. Although Maggie in the dog carrier while twacked out on coffee ice cream was funny.

The one where Lisa is president and makes Bart "Secretary of Coolness"
I also don't like the older one where Bart and Lisa take the aptitude test (CANT) and it tells Lisa she's suited to be a homemaker and she becomes rebellious. Meh.

I remember a bunch of polls naming this as the worst Simpsons episode ever. (As said in Comic Book Guy's voice)
I haven't been keen on the Simpsons' Christmas episodes since the first one. I particularly didn't like the one where Lisa becomes a Buddhist, just because of the asinine digs toward Christianity ("Have you read this thing [The Bible]? It's a 2000 year old sleeping pill.")

Four years ago I was in Ireland and my friend and I were having a good time hanging out with this young group of college guys who were on holiday from their university. One of the guys was like this nerdy little puppy who reminded me of my H in several ways.
He learns where I work and he says something like, "Oh have you seen Hank Scorpio walking around?"
I was really confused for a minute and gave him kind of a puzzled look as I was thinking, "Why do I know that name..." He got this deer in the headlights, "OMG what have I just said to this girl" look, just as it was clicking in my brain. Then I said something, "Ah, The Simpsons. Do you have any sugar? Sorry it's not in packets." He got the biggest grin on his face after that, I'm pretty sure I made his day by getting his reference.
Several years later I named a pair of goldfish Hank Scorpio and Project Arcturus.
My H and I regularly quote The Simpsons at each other.
They do Class Simpsons Trivia Nights in a few cities. MH and I won fourth place in Brooklyn a few weeks ago: woohootrivia.blogspot.com/
Oh man. Me and one of the women I work with would love that. We used to do Simpons triva offs during shutdowns at work. We had to be separated because we were unstoppable teamed up.
I FLURVE the Simpsons. My most commonly used phrase is "for every moment in life, there is a Simpsons corallary."
I own all existing seasons of the Simpsons on DVD. I have (most *shakes fist*) of the Lego minifigs, I have the figures and magnets from the Movie, I have a can of Buzz cola, a shampoo ad with Marge, Simpsons wrapping paper and gift bags, a 12 in stuffed Maggie (she's my favorite), two versions of Simpsons monopoly and trivia, Simpsons pictonary all known books written on them. One day I will sucker H into getting me the Simpson Lego house.
The only collection I have that outshines my Simpsons stuff is my (beautiful, beautiful) yarn. When I like something a lot I become mildly obessed.
Are you planning on getting the MAC collection that is coming out this fall? They are doing a 1 day only release this weekend to coincide with Comic Con at the MAC store in downtown SD and I am so tempted to go down and get my paws on a few items.

I really want this palette
Yes. Yes I am. And I will likely never use it, but it will still be $$$ well spent!
I'm a little sad there isn't blue lipstick. I'd have worn that!
If it weren't for Mayor Quimby this town would really stink, We wouldn't have our tire fire or mid sized roller rink, We wouldn't have our gallows or real life Bigfoot trap, It's not the mayor's fault that the stadium collapsed
Vote Quimby. If you were running for mayor, he'd vote for you.

I love the Simpsons. I find it mindboggling that there are people that haven't seen an episode! (sorry major).
It is too hard to pick just one episode, but my friends and I used to watch the simpsons all the time in high school. (late '90s). I can't say that I have watched many of the episodes from the last ten years, though.
However, classic Simpsons will always be classic. One of my favorite lines is Homer saying "Don't you hate pants?" when he is seeing Krusty doing stand up. and then he says soemthing like "I hope he asks us to burn our pants."
Whenever I see my friends from high school, one of us will invariably say "Don't you hate pants" or start quoting other episodes.

If MH and I go to a new restaurant/bar and I leave to locate the bathroom, when I get back to the table he'll say, "Find the bathroom all right?" And I'll reply, "Uh ... Yeaahhh." And vice versa
Overall, I think the Monorail episode ("Marge vs. the Monorail"), written by Conan O'Brien, is my favorite. But there are SO MANY one-off scenes and lines from all kinds of episodes that I can't even begin to put together a top 10 list.
Love this one, and I was going to use the line "I call the big one Bitey" in conversation earlier today. I also like the earlier a Sideshow Bob episodes-- Cape Fear, Sideshow Bob Roberts, etc. Ralph's crush on Lisa is cute, too. I haven't watched more than one or two of each of the last few seasons. I love the earlier seasons, though.
