I know bumpers are a big "no no" but now that DS is more mobile he is all.over.the.crib!
His legs are out some nights, arms sometimes, his face had been smushed into the wood a few times. I'm thinking about buying a breathable bumper at target tonight. Anyone have one? Good? bad?

I gave in and bought one at about 7 months, he was able to move everywhere by himself and able to move himself away from the walls. He was kicking off and getting his legs shoved through the holes and had at one time pulled up and then twisted and fell. I felt better having it. Bonus, his binkie stopped falling behind the crib in the middle of the night so he could find it on his own and not start crying for it!
I went back and forth on getting one, but ultimately decided it was worth it. And it's amazing. DD used to scoot up to the side of the crib and spit her pacifier out onto the floor. I have no idea why she did it, but every night! Now, it's always in the crib with her.
We did for a couple of weeks, I got freaked out, so now we have nothing. He has gotten stuck one time, but he cried so we were able to see it on the video monitor and fix it for him.
DS must have a breathable bumper. He used to get his limbs in the slats and MAN did that piss him off. He's a tornado in his sleep, even at 2. We hear him banging around in there, but if he's not awake or crying, the bumper is doing it's job!
It is a must for us. When she rolls, she has to swing her legs over and her braces always hit the side of the crib. I was afraid she would get a foot stuck and twist her ankle.
Yes to a breathable bumper, especially with the legs getting stuck in between the rails. I would have to go into DD's room a few times a night to put DD's legs back into the crib. Weave it in between the slats to keep it up. Otherwise it seems to slump down.
