Gross. I'm sorry. But shouldn't EVERYONE know better?
In an ideal world, yes. Realistically? Too much gray area. This kind of stuff is brushed under the rug constantly so people think it's acceptable behavior.
You know who should definitely think it's not okay? A corporate trainer >.<
My best lady friend at work had actually mentioned him being skeevy gross while she was in training a few months back but she was too intimidated to report it. She was sitting with me when it happened the first time today and we were equally uncomfortable. Second time IN ONE DAY I straight up told him to his face he was being wildly inappropriate, then I got a call and he walked off.
Informed my supervisor, who is awesome, immediately after. Past HR hours at that point, she's going to file a complaint for me tomorrow morning.
I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. I went through it back in April. Four (four!) of us came forward with complaints against this guy. One of the ladies said he touched her. We thought for sure he'd be fired. Nope. He got a week off (we were told he had to use vacation time for this... uhh but he still got paid for it), had to go through training, and that was it. We have to face him now in the office, every day. I'm still extremely disgusted with my company for their decision.
I'm glad you reported it. Sorry it happened to you - and your friend - but glad you have the balls to report him, have a friend to confirm it and a boss who backs you.

You still see him at work? That's tough. I'd take that above him and HR and file a complaint with the EEOC if he so much as looks at me - or anyone - sideways or says anything inappropriate. FOUR of you? It's ridiculous that he got such a slap on the wrist.

Ugh. Gross.
You're tough, chick. Seriously. 99% of the time, I'm too stunned to reply the way you did. Good for you. I'm really glad your supervisor is backing you up too.
I'm mostly just mad at myself for not saying something the first time, ya know? I had that "did that just fucking happen?" moment and just sat there looking stunned and disgusted. I only responded the second time because I had been stewing about incident 1 afterwards.

Yes, all the time!!!! It's horrible. Our Senior VP said that if he moves one toe out of line, he's terminated, but still... it's very uncomfortable. I'm not sure I would've gone forward if I had known he'd still be around. The best part? One of the four women IS HIS MANAGER. Yeah.
