DH just told me he's sleeping in because it's his turn to pick up donuts on the way to work today and he's waiting for the shop to open. Um, DH, it's a donut shop. What makes you think they aren't open yet?? (Just checked, yep, they open at 6 am). Dude, if you want to sleep in and go in/come home later today, go ahead. But don't blame it on the donuts!
We don't want to move our livestock, so we gave them all away. A friend from church is coming to pick up the chickens this morning. DH is all breezy about getting them into cages for transport, good luck dude! Our rooster is LARGE AND IN CHARGE dude. I hope DH doesn't get hurt. Just to be safe, I'm just going to dial 9-1 on my cell phone.
I'm about to go pick up dh's 15 yr old cousin for the day. She has limited kid experience, so I can't leave them with her, but I do plan to hide in the basement and do some paperwork and maybe read a book. Yay!
I'm up at 5am to work on a staff report. I've been getting up super early about once a week to write an article or some other document. I kind of love working in a silent house!

We had a play date yesterday at home and it got my DD too excited and it was horrible getting her to bed at night. I am super tired and I still have this horrible summer cold.
We have a picture of DD after her first haircut in DD's room. All week, she's been grabbing the picture and bringing it to me and demanding a haircut and a sucker. Never mind that she has already had several lollipops this week. She somehow remembers that at her last haircut in March, she got a sucker. I scheduled her for a cut today. I hope it goes better than her last one.
Dd has only been sleeping 9-9.5 hours at night but sttn. Naps are 2-3 hours. She has had so many sleep problems I don't want to fuck up something vaguely acceptable but I am annoyed (right now sleeping approximately 8:45-6:15 but last night was 9-6). She also wakes up screaming OUT, sigh.
I swear we have the same kid.
M sleeps from 8:30-9 to 5:30-6. She only takes an hour nap on average, although sometimes we get lucky and she naps 1.5 hrs. When she wakes up, it's immediate screaming (usually mommy, all done, out, and just plain old crying). She's never been a kid who will play quietly by herself before bed or when she wakes up.
V and I have been up since 4am. I'm making another attempt to get her to sleep now. She's exhausted and can barely keep her eyes open but she's totally fighting it and driving me nuts. Before DH left for work this morning he told me I should try to have a better attitude. LOL. He is lucky he didn't leave in a body bag. Especially given how much I know he'd be bitching if he had dealt with a fraction of the sleep deprivation I have.
ETA: She slept for 20 minutes WTF. Sent from my SGH-T399 using proboards
I thought I was in early labor yesterday because I had some sporadic, but real, contractions. Saw my acupuncturist, who was encouraging. Walked 54 blocks total. Took a nice, hot shower. Put all my friends on alert so someone could come get DD if necessary. Did 2 loads of laundry. Made a huge dinner and baked some banana bread. Went to bed early.
Woke up this morning. Nothing. No cramps. No contractions. No baby.
I could deal with continuing to be pregnant, but the contractions fake-out sucks.

I had a nursing cover fail. Dd said would you like to see my brother and pulled my cover up. Thanks, dd.
Ds had some weirdness going on with his belly button after his cord fell off, so I took him to the doctor this morning. The nurse thought the scale was broken because of how much he weighed. Nope, he's just big. He has an umbilical granuloma.
Tonight's my last night of single parenting MOTN! We go home to H tomorrow and I don't know if I'm more excited to see him because I miss him or because I can make him get up MOTN! oh and I'm going in for my facial. 2 hours of silence and relaxation.

It's rainy and icky here today. We are heading to my parents after work to brew my H's first batch of beer. He's excited, but I am imagining it's going to take a lot longer than he thinks. I'm just praying DS will sleep ok, since we've had an AWESOME streak this week.

I am LOLing at the image of your H chasing down angry chickens.

This dress ends up being $10.20 after the sales today. But I don't have anything else to add to my cart to get to free shipping ($50). I need a dress for a bachelorette party in August...I can't decide if shipping will be worth it......argh. such decisions this morning.
And the bach party is supposed to be nautical themed. I have held off buying anything nautical because there was nautical EVERYWHERE. Now that I'm looking, I can't find anything! WTH. I just want an anchor necklace or something.
A pretty close friend just put a photo on FB of her forward-facing 10 month old in his car seat. I sent said friend a short and sweet PM about the recommendations. I hope it's received in the manner in which it was sent.

How much is shipping? I am considering $15 shipping on an IKEA item that is only $12. $15 seems high, but then I think of how I would either spend a whole day taking public transportation to and from IKEA OR spending more than $15 on a cab or a car rental to get there.

$7. I hate shopping so i don't mind paying the shipping. But since it's an Old Navy dress there is always a chance I will have to take it back anyways.
