Go in special pre-sale today for 24 hours. I just want to sign up, but I'm not sure if I'll be ready because of my injury. I don't want to spend $900 and not be able to do it.
I know both races won't sell out so I know I can wait, but grrrr, part of me just wants to register.
I think I saw somewhere that Ironman may be changing their policies about deferring races because of illness/injury, etc so it might be worth searching for that info real quick before registering?

They have a full refund policy that goes into effect for 2015. Oh how I wish they had done that or allowed you to transfer last year when I was injured. :/

Only in the states. Only transfers apply for races outside if the USA. . Or you can get a partial refund off $150 before June 15.
$900 for an Ironman and no refund/deferment policy, I can't even comprehend this craziness.
That's why I'm extremely hesitant. Both of these races haven't sold out quickly, so I'm not worried about that. I think I'm just going to wait. Also, Challenge has a race later in August in Canada (the original ironman Canada), they do a full refund, no questions asked. Some of my teammates have been talking about doing this race. I think I'm just going to hold on to my money for now.

Dang! I didn't realize it was only to the races in the United States. I skimmed the email I got since I knew I wasn't doing an ironman next year.
