Did anyone get an early guess on the sex of their baby? If so, was it correct?
I had my NT scan today and the ultrasound tech didn't hesitate to give us a guess that the baby is another boy! She told us not to paint the nursery yet, but that we should hang on to all our boy clothes. She her guess up pretty quickly when we asked.
Anyway, just curious. Everything else looked great, so we are thrilled!
At my NT scan, my OB said "look, there's the penis!" I dissolved into 12-year-old boy laughter, but that's beside the point LOL. I asked him if he really knew it was a boy from the u/s, or he just picked it out because we already knew it was a boy from Panorama. He swore that he could tell from the u/s. So in my limited experience, confident early boy guesses have some reliability?
Yay for an awesome appointment and another boy! You will get to pass on your oh so adorable boy clothes to another one, that is celebration in itself- C is dressed so cute!
Our tech said it was too early to guess. I was kind of bummed at the time, but having a tentative guess would have probably been more agonizing for me than just not knowing! Plus, we were both SO sure we were having a girl, and turns out it's a boy. I think a guess in either direction would have been agonizing to have to wait until 20 weeks to know for sure.

Yeah, I think this is where I was. I did not want a tentative guess.
Yes, we were told it was a girl at our NT scan at 11 weeks, and she was correct.
I asked how would she be able to tell and she said that early on the guesses are usually based on the tubercle angle...and that's what she was basing her guess off of.
I googled it back after she mentioned that and I guess supposedly the tubercle angle thing is a pretty accurate way to guess early on.
Team green here but my cousin was told that she was having a boy, at her NT at 12 weeks and the tech was 95% sure. She had a cute little baby girl. (They did find out at the 20 week that it was a girl.)
Im not pregnant so I really shouldn't be on this board but I'm on the app and so this post. Plus I'm already 45 minutes into waiting for my doctor to come in for my annual exam.
Yes at 12 weeks the tech guessed a girl and that was confirmed again at 20 weeks and finally when she was born.

At 11 weeks, the "angle of the dangle" is only 50% accurate.
My mom works in ultrasound and the whole office was guessing girl based on the angle in my 11 week ultrasound.
My mom says that at 12 weeks she can look between the legs to determine the sex.
I didn't go back until 14 weeks and there was no missing the "third leg", LOL!
OP, you're 12 weeks right? So the u/s is probably right.

Congrats!
Depending on which EDD you use I'm either 12w1d or 11w6d. So pretty close.

tubercle angle -- I don't even know what that is, LOL! Will have to google.
yep, our tech guessed at 12 weeks and was right. we wished we hadn't accepted her offer to guess because we actually didn't want to find out (I said "sure" bc I really thought she was just speculating... I didn't consider that she does this 40 hrs/wk for years and has SOME expertise anyway it made us crazy for the next 8 wks so we ultimately did confirm.
My tech at my US said boy and she usually is 80/20. The MFM doctor came in after reviewing the images and said she's 97% sure it's a boy. The tech also included a pretty good penis shot on our CD so I have bought stuff for the nursery lol. Our A/S is August 22nd but I'm feeling pretty confident that his penis and testicles will still be there lol.

Our tech said normally she can't tell, but sometimes it's obvious. She had us look away when she got to that part, just in case, since we are team green.
