Miso had a cyst removed yesterday, and I'm the asshole who took a picture of her half drugged wearing the cone of shame. You'll note she is not amused.
They're friends but they rarely snuggle or sit together, so this was a rare treat last night.
The little black cat got her head caught in a paper bag a few days ago - she wasn't harmed but it freaked her out. She hid under the bed all day The tabby's been extra-gentle with her since then - he follows her around, grooms her face, and they sat together like this last night with no complaints.
I posted this on ML but I'll repost it here. I bought a few dog beds the other day* and this is Sadie trying out one of them. She had sniffed it and walked around it suspiciously all day before this, so I was glad to witness the moment of acceptance. No takers on the bedroom dog bed yet - apparently the people bed is the only place to be.
*MM tip - TJ Maxx has cute, decent quality dog beds for like $30 - $35. I had been looking at Orvis and LL Bean beds that were $100 - $250, and just couldn't bring myself to shell out that much money when I wasn't even sure they would use them (Dexter never did). I'm sure the pricy ones are more durable that the ones I bought, but that's ok.
She got a bath when we got home. By the time we finished, her bottom half was so dirty, she looked like she had been dipped in chocolate.
@sfgal - those pictures are seriously adorable, and they make me want a second dog.
GET A SECOND DOG! It is one of the best things we have done. I was so worried that Lucas would disrupt Rooney (our first dog) and make him unhappy, but truthfully he seems even happier with him around. They constantly remind me and my H of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly from Stepbrothers and we're always saying, "Did they just become best friends?" to each other and "Do you want to do karate in the garage?" Seriously, they seem so happy and we love having two.
We should have a puppy play date sometime. Yours looks like a fun one and my two guys LOVE dogs as long as they can go off-leash.
Maddie seems to enjoy being an only child - she sits in my lap at every opportunity she gets, so I worry that she would not enjoy sharing that. And while my landlord would *probably* be OK, we'd rather not rock the boat there. But whenever I see cute little dog pairs, my heart melts.
Definitely a dog GTG soon! Chrissy Field might be good for that.

We don't have any inside pets (except fish...when we can keep them alive), so here are pics of some of the farm kitties:
Rosie
Boy Scout (my girls are Girl Scouts...they named him lol), Tilt (he has a messed up back end), and Layla
They are awesome cats...the three in the bottom pic are awesome mousers too. I'm quite impressed with how well they do! No mice in our house for quite awhile now!

My dad sent me this picture last night of my fish (one isn't in the shot.) I adopted these 4 guys in 2001 from a friend that was moving. My parents adopted them when I moved in 2004...
My PSA if you want fish that live forever get Kissing Gourami's.
