I had heard that target was doing a big toy markdown, so the girls and I checked it out this am. A lot of things were 50-70% off. I picked up quite a few things to put away for Christmas...mooshka dolls, dress up outfits, princess Sofia stuff, etc. Just thought I'd pass along the info in case anyone else wanted to take advantage of the sale.

I have a funny Target story to share. My coworker took her daughter to buy a cabbage patch doll. It was 50% off. While picking out the doll she wanted a 30 something year old woman was trying to talk this ten year old kid out of purchasing the doll because she wanted it. She said that the week prior it was 30% off and she didn't realize it was already at 50% off. She said she had display tables for them and all of the other dolls in the collection. My coworker thinks the lady had originally hid the doll because it wasn't in the normal spot. I just think it's crazy she was trying to haggle a kid out of a doll so she could buy it.
he currently likes trains/cars/trucks, dinosaurs, animal figurines, puzzles
The same for a while at least until their fine motor skills get better for Legos and more advanced building stuff. Anything he could build with was a hit. And that was the year we got him the art easel I think. i may go and look for Alex at any dress up or princess/ Minnie Mouse stuff but her big gift will be a doll house for Christmas.

thanks. I'd be thrilled to not add to the toys in our house right now! i feel like we are drowning in toys

All the above. At this point, I would just maybe get some books and games (matching games are a good one) that he can grow into.
B still likes all of that stuff at 5. We have just added activity books, games, regular Legos (in addition to the Duplos we already have), more books, and some superhero figures, a camera, and access to electronic devices in the past few years. (NOTE: This includes stuff from grandparents and aunts/uncles, not just us.
