So on my 6 hour drive yesterday my H and I were listening to the radio and a commercial came on and was talking all about a lady winning 15 million dollars so of course we started discussing what we would do with it lol!
Now I ask you, what would you do right now with 15 million dollars deposited into your bank account?
It can be practical/frivolous etc! Be as detailed or vague as you wish
-DH would quit his job so we could travel, I would see if I could take a leave. If not I only have to work 1 shift every 3 months to keep my job so we would do that for now while we travel.
-we would probably do a road trip all over Canada and the US, plus do some international travel as well. (If DH would get on a plane.)
- we would probably give our parents and siblings a small amount of money. (Ok not that small but small compared to 15mill.)
- we would invest some of the money
- we would potentially buy a few investment properties
- new vehicles for both of us
- DH would probably spend money restoring his collector vehicles
And so much more. Lol
ETA: -donate to a few different organizations (TTH, the rescue that saved our pup, and the SPCA.)
-how could I forget DHs request if we win millions. Buy a piece of property on the edge of the city and built a dog kennel where we could have our own dogs as well as some space so we could foster 4-5 dogs for the rescue.
I would pay off our mortgage and school loans, buy two new cars, buy my parents and sister new cars and give them some of the money, get another dog, donate some of the money, and save the rest. After that I really don't know what I'd do.
This is a constant conversation we have/have with the in laws. It used to drive me crazy but I'm so use to it now.
MIL and I are always talking about our lottery houses. LOL.
One night several months ago DH and I were talking about it and where we would want to donate money. He would like to donate and make a scholarship fund for where he went to school. I told him the first place I would want to donate was TTH. True story. HoneySpider (heart)
TTH made such a huge difference for me and helped/helps me cope with everything. I can't think of a better cause. Or anything more important to me.
*** See HS just help us win the lottery and we'll be sending some your way!
Oh, and DH would start his own business. I'm not sure what kind because there are several he wants to do. I'm sure that would be something we would do right away.

1. Pay off SLs 2. Move & buy a house 3. Give money to both sides of the family to pay off houses, pay for college, whatever 4. Save & invest 5. Travel 6. Buy a bunch of random stuff 7. Donate to 2 of my alma maters (Pitt & Tenn) 8. Make a large donation to TTH
1. Pay off student loans 2. Pay off our parents' houses (and buy a proper place for my FIL) 3. Move into a 2 bed flat 4. Travel 5. Donate to Max Appeal, Sands, TTH 6. Invest until we could think of another way to spend it - I guess if we were more settled we'd probably buy a house or something.

-Pay off student loans and car (only debt) -Buy a house somewhere we really want to live -Go shopping of course -Donate (not sure where, maybe a variety of organizations) -Go on all the vacations we ever wanted to go on -Save some so we don't go too crazy
1. Quit my job. 2. Find something part time and use my free time to volunteer. 3. Invest wisely, live simply. 4. Pay off the house and renovate some. 5. Buy a new/second car since we only own one now. 6. Pay off my IL's farm. 7. Fully fund my mom's retirement so she could retire ASAP. 8. Set my brother up with a modest house and small trust. 9. Travel! 10. Give!

Invest it, live well off the interest (if that 15 million was after taxes, a conservative 6% interest would be $90,000 per year), quit our jobs. Move from this town I dislike, travel a lot, eat well.
1. take $100,000 each and blow it on stupid crap. Get it out of our system. 2. pay off debts including my car. 3. buy a house that would fit our needs, not a mansion. 4. both of us would quit our full time jobs. 5. cruise around the world then do some more international travel that we can't get to on a cruise ship. 6. go back to school for something I would love to do. I would have to get a job I would get bored eventually. 7. invest some and bank the rest so we could live on it the rest of our lives.

Fun fact about Canada: you don't have to pay taxes on lottery winnings. Not sure if it's the same in the UK as I don't think I've ever bought a lottery ticket here.
