I recommend anyone who wants do "what I'm doing" to get a real training plan. There are so many out there. And stay CONSISTENT. Pretty much any plan WILL work if you stick with it.
I love how you keep saying something like this over and over- no ones listening! We all just want your ass! And I think some people in both ways that phrase can be taken! Lol
you're really inspiring! I did look up the one website you mentioned in the post and I'm going to start the plan on there once I'm done the 21 day fix I'm doing now
Are squatting in the rack or with the smith machine? The rack scares me so I always end up on the machine.
I'm not an expert but my H was a bodybuilder and personal trainer and he hates the smith machine. Sometimes we use it for calves but we never use it for squats.
Holy shit farmer you look awesome! What's the time span from before to after? And can I ask what was the before weight/ size? I think that's about where I am now

Counted calories! Worked out like 4-6x a week doing cardio, bootcamp and lifted weights. Upped my protein intake. I saw a marked difference in body composition when I started paying attention not just to total calories consumed but also my protein/carb/fat % ratios
I use myfitnesspal
Thanks for the info- what ratios do you shoot for? I've been counting for a while and just upped my working out but I should probably pay attention to protein/ fat/ carbs more

Don't use the smith machine. You don't have to use core strength with the smith machine, so it's nowhere near as beneficial as going out of the rack. Start light and get yourself very comfortable with the movement. Hips below knees at the bottom of the squat. You should be able to set a marble on your knee and have it roll toward you. Keep your chest upright and facing the wall in front of you. Find some youtube videos and practice the movement without weight and then with low weight. Weightlifting takes a lot of work and has a learning curve, but you will get a lot out of it if you go about it the right way.
