We're going to the State Fair for a bit. I've never been, but I hear the people watching is fabulous DS is stoked to see all the animals, while I can't wait to eat an order or huge, fried horrible-for-you onion rings. (hot)
We're going to tire ds out a bit going grocery shopping and to the hardware store this morning. Then, after his nap, we're heading out to an outdoors pot luck hosted by some of dh's family's friends. Should be fun. Mil kindly offered to make 2 pot luck dishes so I don't have to (being enormously pregnant and sore). In exchange, we agreed to stay with the ILs tonight so they have an excuse to leave early. It's all a really good deal for us.
It's a win-win deal for us because a) we get free, no clean-up supper, and b) ILs will play with ds all evening and probably let us sleep in tomorrow morning.

Heaven help me, DH and I are going to play in a pick up soccer game this morning. I can't think of the right words for just how awful I am at sports. And I don't know the first thing about soccer rules. Should be interesting at least!
This afternoon, my BFF is in town and we're meeting for coffee! So excited to catch up!
I just went and got doughnuts for everyone (we're kid-sitting a friends two sons while she and her H are in Guatemala) and have to leave in 45 minutes to take DD to her private acro coaching session. After that...we have NO plans. I kinda want to do something but with the extra kids here I'm not sure what.
I'm sitting waiting to get one of our cars inspected. Fun times, especially bc it is going to fail (it's our beater 3rd car). Then I have to go to the grocery store. DH and I may go to our favorite riverside bar/restaurant for a late lunch.
Getting my oil changed currently. Then heading to the store to buy stuff to make a cake for my nephew's 19th bday (he asked for cheesecake - YUM). Then I plan to spend the afternoon in the pool. Breast cancer fundraiser/5K tonight.
Looks awesome! You've probably mentioned it on here before, but are you going with a group or just yourselves?
My plan for today is to go for a 9-mile run. I signed up for a marathon in November (the last one I did was a decade ago!) and I'm in the 2nd week of training. Unfortunately I'm still on the couch, ostensibly trying to plan out my route but obviously checking GBCN as a procrastination tool. It is not particularly hot yet and it is cloudy so my motivation is low.
aurora, SWEETNESS on your marathon. Wow, that is awesome.
We are going solo (well, the 2 of us) - this is our first solo trip without guides or without friends (when we did Rainier we went without guides but with two similarly experienced buddies.)
I am both super psyched and also a teeny bit nervous. Everyone tell us that Eldorado is CRAZY beautiful so I am v. much looking forward to that.
We were going to get barbecue for lunch and maybe find a farmers market for vegetables ... but instead we're taking a cat to the vet because it looks like she may have hurt her foot.

We are having a new couple over for a BBQ this evening. DH and I love to entertain, but since moving here we haven't done much of it, so this is super fun for us! We're making greek food- chicken skewers, hummus, etc. I will probably go outside in a few minutes and clean up the dog's pieces of toys from the yard.

DH was supposed to get in at 8am. So I planned on getting up and doing my 8 mile run and getting him from the airport and then laundry and pool relaxing today and yard work. And probably BBQ for dinner and watch a movie tonight.
His flight got delayed and he isn't supposed to get in until almost 4pm now. He got 1 hour of sleep in the airport last night and almost nothing on his first flight. So he is cranky and tired. I ended up sleeping in a bit once I got the news and still went for my 8 mile run and it was disgustingly hot and humid. Then went to the grocery store on the way home from my run. Hanging around until I have to get him and then probably picking up dinner on the way home and then DH will crash most likely.
Spin, farmers market yard work, errands run, and 2 clients this am--whew!
We have a couples baby shower today. It is at 4 pm (aka, the hottest part of the day) at BIL& SIL's house--they have a beautiful yard for entertaining, I love to hang out with the group that will be there, but I am dreading going to a party (where the majority of people will have to be outdoors out of necessity) in this heat.

That's so awesome! There is something about being out there just you two that is a little intimidating, but I'm sure you'll do fine. Take and bring back pics!
We wound up going for BBQ after all, and we also got some stuffed cupcakes for dessert.
Our kitty somehow ripped out FOUR of her back toenails. Poor thing We're at least grateful that she didn't break a toe or something. She's in hiding under the bed right now, with the door closed since our boy cat is hissing at her. He was SUPER concerned for her before we brought her to the vet ... he came running and meowing when we picked her up and touched her feet and she screamed. Poor bud.
