I work in finance at a megacorp. I work 9-6 with an hour lunch, and my boss works the same. Out of our team, only the group manager works more than 40 hours consistently- he does 50-55 hrs.
I'm an accounting manager for a mid-size private corp. I work 8:30 - 5:30 Mon - Thurs. And 8:30-12:30 on Fridays. Now and then I will work a few extra hours for month end or year end. And I usually will do that from home.
I work 8-5 M-Th and 8-3 Fridays. We don't work weekends but are welcome to come in if we need to. I never have. There are some evenings but rare and mostly client events so drinking and eating. Some roles need to be there a lot more in the evenings but I am no longer in sales so I get to check out at 5!
I work for state government and work 7:30-4:00 with up to an hour for lunch included.
The hours are amazing, the pay is not.
This is me, town government, and I work 8-4. I love my hours but the trade off is the pay. But these hours are worth it with two little kids and my husband's schedule.
