The summer heat has finally caught up with me and I've been having shit runs all week, including an ugly ugly 10 miler this morning. I cannot wait til fall.
Also, I'm having kind of a personal crisis. I came to the conclusion this week that I just cannot run the way I want to this year because my priority absolutely has to be work. But I'm having a had time letting go of how much I think I should be running. But also I don't even really want to run that much right now, see above sentence about the heat. Ugh.

I've done way too much sitting on the couch today. Only a tiny bit if me feels guilty and gross about it. The rest of me is all, enjoy it your long run tomorrow will wipe alllllll of this out lol But I tend to feel tubby in my rest days and lost as to what to do with myself lol no win situation lol
I'm letting a foot injury heal and on a break from running for the next week. I hate it, because I feel like its going to be hard to mentally get back into running next week. Also my mom is here and we were planning on running together while she's visiting. Instead she's running and I'm riding my bike along next her, just a tad jealous.
I wrote out my marathon training plan last night and was already planning how I could rearrange it. This isn't a good sign.
I opened my plan to write/do some tweaking, and then said, "newp" & quickly closed it, roughly 7 times before having something I could actually print out. Even now I'm very meh about the whole thing. Week one has been fine, but I'm trying to turn a winter plan into a summer plan, and it's not happening. I cannot do tempo runs in this heat. There's just no way. It's going to be a summer of MP miles, strides, and maybe some 400-1200s.
My injury flared up again:( My low back gets super tight and painful when I run or cross fit too much and it happened this week and I've been resting the past 2 days - blah! It hurts and I'm annoyed plus my new "sports nutritionist" wants me to cut running down to 1 day a week because every running day needs to be a track workout day or a sprint workout. She told me to get a pool membership so I could do sprints - I said no! I'm not swimmer and do not want to be a swimmer.
I asked DH to drive (we are going to a big family camp out) so I could drink my Nuun-mosa. I ran 18 miles for crying out loud.
What flavor are you guys using for these Nuun-mosas? Citrus fruit seems like the logical choice.
ETA: Also, I can't believe you're already up to 18 miles! How's it going?
Today I used fruit punch, because I'm taking it with me camping to mix with coconut vodka. Trust. Any fruit is good with champagne. Strawberry lemonade is my fave so far.
Things are going well! I ran a half today in 1:51:16 without even trying (seriously, felt great, other than just tired legs from the first 40-mile week) and nothing hurts yet, so I'm feeling cautiously optimistic.
I ran 16 this morning and I am super annoyed at how much my Garmin was off based on the trail markers. I was going to do marathon pace miles, but I didn't know what pace I was going.
I love using my Marriott points for nicer hotels cause they give us the good room and free water.
We are going to a wedding tonight and I plan on letting DH drive because he is going to be boring and run early tomorrow

What?!? Every run needs to be speed? Girl be cray. You do you, fuego.
one of my few short-longer runs before marathon training ramps up and the heat/humidity was lovely here today. Ran a little over 6 and then spent the rest of they day on the boat, cocktails, and fancy dinner out

She, the nutritionist, wants me to run twice a week and for those to both be track workouts and to CF the other 4 days. She asked me to give up my Sunday long runs:( My goal is to get leaner so I understand where she is coming from but I can't do sprint workouts while my fracture is still healing. Grr.

I had a pretty shitty 8 mile run today. It's my longest run to date but I slept like crap last night and was up for 2 hours from 3-5 which probably didn't help. I'm glad next week is a 10k instead of 9 miler. But it makes me happy that a 10k is a short long run since a year ago I couldn't run a mile.

My long run today did not go well. I felt fine through mile 12, not so great for miles 12-14, and then I felt pretty awful. I was sweating like crazy, and I think I got too dehydrated. I had to bail and get a ride back to my car. I always have one really bad bonk training run, and I hope this was it.

That's awesome!! I would definitely be optimistic about that. I knew you'd bounce back.
runaways, I think Nuun & vodka would be amazing! Although, as stated on FB, I'd probably add water. My favorite summertime drink at one of the local beach bars, is a mango Gatorade. It's just mango vodka, water, and a splash of sour. I can drink them all day in the sun, because hydration! I bet the Nuun would be similar. Flavor of choice, water, vodka!
Everyone I know is running Kiawah. It's starting to stress me out.
I hope I don't puke in te lake during my swim tomorrow. I kinda drank too much tonight. Good news though - tomorrow is pancake day.
what stresses you out about this?
And - good luck w/not puking You'll do well!!!
I get stressed out when I feel pulled between different groups of people. Plus, my running group doesn't know I'm going with a bunch of internet friends. Plus, I found ou tonight that one of my BFFs is doing it and I kind of hate her running buddy. Anyway, I'm sure it will be fine. I kind if just want to hang out with you guys and not worry about all these other people who I see all the time.

I tell people, "Oh, no. There are a few girls I haven't met, (16 to be exact! Lol) but not all of them are strangers. This is simply because I once met al320 for roughly 5 minutes before a race. Whatever. I get the being pulled between two groups though.
We will have a fun race, and then you can help me solve the Nuun cocktail mystery. How is it best served? With water? Without? Champagne? Vodka? Any rum fans?? These are some of the magical things we will discover.
