Either too much or not enough, depending on the day. Today was laundry day so I'll say too much.
I tried to keep NB clothes to a minimum but it's a baby clothes bonanza for 0-3 mo. Most is geared towards summer so I'll likely be adding to it for fall.
Backing out of the post as I just ordered him 4 pants and H came home with a bunch of stuff the other day. To my credit, H actually buys him more then I do.
Not much...I've learned a lot having 4 girls in 10yrs...lol. I try and go for minimum & They don't get many gifts of clothes anymore & have very few handmedowns (got rid of almost everything after DD3).
I hate laundry and I love to shop sales so way too much. I think my older son has about 20 pairs of shorts and 40 shirts. I justify it by telling myself that his little brother will wear it all.
LO has probably more outfits than I do. We will probably buy some winter stuff for in between 6mo and 12mo sizes, we already have plenty of 6mo and enough 12mo sizes for spring, but need some winter clothes. I don't want to buy too many though cuz I know that the grandparents will be very busy buying clothes for xmas!
According to MIL we have " so many clothes DS will never need anything!" Um, not quite. We have "so many" because I hung everything up in his closet- newborn to 18 months. Then it turns out DS is gigantic and will never wear half of the stuff in his closet. Looks can be very deceiving!
We probably have 10 outfits in rotation right now, not including onesies. In the summer I prefer one piece rompers for DS and we probably have 7 of those and 3 shorts/onesie outfits (things that actually match up and leave the house- most of our onesies are just worn under sleep sacks to bed)
I'm so apprehensive to buy ahead at all for this chunky monkey. I bought several 9 month outfits at the Carter's clearance sale in June but have only washed one, so far. We'll see how long that fits!
I started looking at this winter's clothes over the weekend. I think we're at about 30 pairs of pants and 40ish tops. 75% of them were hand me downs, and the rest I either bought dirt cheap at consignment sales or insane clearance sales. We try to only do laundry once a week, so it's nice to have multiple pairs of jeans, khakis, etc. in the same size.
We probably still have about 10 or so pairs of pants that fit from last year.
i finally am getting to sizes where i have less. 3-6m was/is insane because it spanned cold weather and now summer so i have SO much! like, an embarrassing amount. she still fits in most of it.
i have stopped buying ahead because she grows so slowly that i have no idea when she will move up. it stinks because i think i miss out on a lot of end of season sales this way but oh well.
for fall so far i have 3 pairs of leggings, 2 pairs of jeggings, 1 other pant, 2 long sleeve shirts, 6 short sleeved shirts, 1 jacket and one skirt. she needs some sweaters, long sleeved shirts, and pjs but i am waiting until it actually gets cold and i am sure she will be in the size i bought.
i am trying to be very minimalist going forward which is SO hard because i love baby clothes.
I can commiserate with all of this the struggle is real people!
I'm kind of worried about winter stuff because it doesn't get very cold here but I also have no idea what size she will be. I'm afraid she will need warm weather stuff in a bigger size and I won't be able to find anything. Although at this rate she will still be able to wear all the 3-6 mo stuff I bought last winter.

the slow growth is only going to get worse with the walking! if she stops really gaining and just gets taller we are screwed. handmade leggings, anyone?
i bought L a fleece in 12-18 months right before she was born. i am pretty sure it will not fit until next winter. i should dig out the fleece from last year because i bet it would still fit lol
I'm afraid to count. I do a good job of finding good deals and I have a niece who is 18 months older than DD so we end up with a lot of hand me downs. I typically buy clothes ahead of time so we are all set when the new season arrives. I try not to count on the hand me downs from my niece because as they are getting older the closer they are getting in size and my niece is still wearing some of the clothes that DD could wear. Also, SIL and I don't really have the same taste in clothes for our kids. I'm not afraid to admit that I may have a problem when it comes to buying clothes!

I buy almost all used/clearance, but I can't walk away from a good deal. I bought size 5 Janie & Jack shirts at a mom-to-mom sale because I couldn't just leave them there, all cute and lonely, only $2 a piece!
I pat myself on the back that I haven't started buying things for a second hypothetical child. Yet.
For each boy (4.5, 3 and 1.5) I usually have 10-15 tops and 7-8 bottoms in any given size. Throw in a few seasonal items and they're set. Three boys is super MM because hand-me-downs always get used by at least one kid, regardless of season/size. I buy a combo of second hand and clearance racks.

This is flameful, but there was the cutest dress at the consignment store last week for $4, so I bought it. 1) I have a boy 2) It was a 4T! My H was like, IF we even have a girl she could wear this in about 8 years, lol. I couldn't help myself.
