I always wash out of habit, but then realize I don't need to waste a paper towel to dry them since they are going to get wet in 30 seconds anyway. And then I wonder why I even washed them!

Don't dry your hands. And technically you are supposed to shower before entering a pool.

But really- has anyone ever seen this done/enforced? I've seen some swimmers do it before races, but just curious....
