Aww, that's great, dcms!
My random is that Babycakes lost his first tooth over the weekend and no one knows where it is. I'm kind of peeking in the toilet when he poops to see if I see any evidence of him swallowing it, but it doesn't look that way. I'm surprised to see that he hasn't really even noticed that it's missing. I thought this would be a high drama situation.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
DS was asleep on the couch when we woke up this morning. No idea how or when he got there. We lay the pillows down at night to keep the dogs off and he did have the sense to stand those up first.
J puked again last night. Undigested blueberries from lunch. We're going to email the doc today, I'm thinking it's a little reflux (he was a very spitty baby, but generally not miserable about it) aggravated by too chunky/un-gummed food and baths. It's weird.
Sat night my mom watched the girls so DH and I could go out. Apparently L got really interested in our wedding photo with the family on the shelf above the couch. She then had a full blown crying meltdown with tears and everything because she didn't get to go to our wedding. Nevermind she has seen that picture every day for her entire 3.5 years of existence and the fact that the wedding was 4 years before she and her sister were even an idea.....she did not care. All she knows is she didn't get to go.

DD apparently woke up at 1:30 this morning. I had no idea - DH got up with her. I think that was the first time in the almost 3 years she's been alive that I didn't hear her cry first.
We had a bad Sunday followed by a bad night last night. S was super sensitive, cried big ass tears whenever you put him down. I don't know if it's more teeth our what. Ibuprofen did seem to help his mood. He was up at 12 and then 1:40, which is when I dosed him again.
I'm in a miserable sleep deprived funk though. I asked H at S's 4am waking to try and of course S SCREAMED the whole time H tried to rock him. I don't know why I even bother.

BabyLiu keeps telling me that her vagina is her butt and her butt is her vagina. She says "teacher said so." Suuuuuure she did. She also passed her swimming test! She willingly put her face in the water. ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!
BoyLiu spent his weekend eating Kali's fur. He is gross.
My 18 month old went on the potty 3 times this weekend! he's obviously not telling us every time he has to go but we are taking advantage when he does tell us.
There is a church in town that has a huge indoor play centre and its cold and rainy so I brought ghe kiddos. It's cool!! I'm hoping to come here a few times a week this summer and maybe meet other parents with kids the same age.

Poor kid! She was over it by Sunday.
DD has had a similar reaction to our wedding photos. More a whiny fit than meltdown but with the "But IIIIIIIIII wanted to go" and "It's NOT fair."

My oldest lost his at kindergarten open house. It was in his face and then it wasn't. Who knows where it went in the interim.
My baby related random is that I'm about to pitch the baby out of the damned window. He hasn't been sleeping well the last two nights which has made him something of a zombie terror complete with the non-verbal whining. And now I have to spend ten hours minimum in a car with all of that. FUCK MY LIFE!
But at least my face is prettty. (yes, I'm clinging to this. sorry, not sorry)

Last week Thursday B said he "told J (the kid who's been teasing him) that 'Sharing is good' and that J told him 'Sharing is bad' and then ran away saying he wasn't my friend anymore. And that made me sad."
*sigh*
In a funny B story he asked me and H last night "Who gave us S?" and then proceeded to answer himself "Mommy did." That's right, baby. Mommy did.

My oldest kids are at science and math camp - sounds very overachievey, except really it's cheaper than their regular day camp and they only do about 2 hours of science and math fun outside each day, then swim in the lake for the rest of the day. I want to go to science camp!
I also had a weird CEP kid talk this morning - NPR was on in the car and discussion Ukraine firing missiles at Russia and my oldest stopped talking with his friend and said, "Quiet everyone! Wait, Mom, are Russia and Ukraine at a war?" I said, "Yes, unluckily, they are fighting and have some people in Ukraine who want to be part of Russia and it's pretty messy." He said, "So not only Israel and Palestine are at war, but also Ukraine and Russia?! Wars don't just happen everyday, right?"
I wasn't sure how to answer - truth or not? I was sort of caught off guard and said, "Well not in the US, we have our representatives fight more for us with words in Congress." But I sort of feel like I should have explained more.

I feel like a cad, DD has been going on and on about getting a pink backpack with a unicorn patch ever since she saw one in the stupid Pottery Barn kids catalog. I have been telling her that she can't have one right now, but maybe for her birthday. Went to order it today, and they've discontinued it. It's such a first world problem, but I feel bad making her wait and saying for her birthday we'll get it, and then, nope sorry kiddo. Oh well, guess she'll have to learn that life isn't fair.

DD will be 10 months old on Friday and for the last few weeks I was wondering why she wasn't crawling, why she doesn't care to on anything, why she hadn't grown any more teeth in the last 3+ months, why she doesn't understand the words that are coming out of my mouth (say it like Chris Tucker), etc.
Welp, since Friday DD has learned how to:
Crawl Climb on furniture Get herself into sitting position Hand me or DH something when we ask her to please give [item] to us Stand up by herself for a few seconds at a time
And yesterday we saw her third tooth through the gums.

Be careful what you wish for.
Those explosions are both amazing and horrifying.
I was all happy S seemed to be slow on the pickup with the crawling thing. He did the baby plank for a long time and only really started CRAWLING crawling maybe at 7 months.
Then he pushed into a sit. A week later he was pulling up to stand on things and cruise.
This weekend he started walking while holding on to push toys and fingertips.

DD did this, she went from crawling to walking in the span of 3 weeks, and was full on running by the middle of 10 months. You have my utmost sympathy. It is rough.

Jesus. DH is at the pedi with DD and texted me that DD is now 19 lbs 13 oz. She was 17 lbs even a month ago at her last appointment. Still waiting to hear back from him to find out if that weight gain concerns the pedi, but if not, that just adds to my feelings of guilt. I suddenly dried up 6 weeks ago and weaned her at 8.5 months; she was never a speedy gainer and gained pretty much the bare minimum acceptable each month since birth. This is the first weight check since she's been 100% formula-fed and I was already thinking that perhaps she wasn't as satisfied at the breast as I assumed she was based on her change in eating behavior since I fully weaned, and now this just makes me wonder if I am indeed correct...as if she's playing "catch-up" with weight gain to make up for not eating enough before.

*hugs* Don't beat yourself up about it. She might have just hit a spurt. BoyLiu started off making good gains and is now in the 1% for weight. We pulled up BabyLiu's charts and she was about the same at the same age. It's apparently just what my kids do.

Thanks. I tell myself that since DD sees the pedi every month, the numbers (in either direction) will inevitably be alarming but that if I look at the numbers for every 3 months, they might not be concerning after all.
But this does explain why I was getting exhausted from holding her recently.

Ditto mesh.
It probably helps explain her recent explosion in skills though.
Also keep in mind she's probably getting more calories from solids, too. I know B was dropping lower and lower each month until that 6 month appt - down to the 5% - and then started going back up. He shot up 3 lbs between his 6 and 9 month and 4 lbs between 9 and 12 month appointments.
