The orange one was too wordy, I skimmed... but then I clicked one of the links at the end that took me to the book's FB page (I guess) and there's the fucking CREEPIEST FACE as the profile pic. It's so much worse than I imagined Rose's grin while reading.
The story didn't scare me, but that face is gonna be hard to forget when I close my eyes. *shudder*
Honestly, I think it's much less scary since I don't believe in anything supernatural anymore. That stuff loses its edge when you take ghosts, demons, poltergeists, etc. off the table.
Actual humans are a million times scarier than anything supernatural.
This is exactly why I love reading scary books about things that couldn't happen and am too scared to open most of those that could.
So I read the whole entire mold saga last night. It's kind of all over the place (demons, cults, zombies, mold, oh my!) but I'm really impressed with the author(s), writing from all of those points of view and keeping it up for so long. Even commenting in (possessed) character! Has anyone else read these?
If you love creepy stories, check out the Fortean Times message board. This particular thread has links to other forums and you can get sucked in for days:
J will sometimes talk about his last family with very specific details and then say that after you're in Heaven for a long time God has you come back as a baby to a new family.
I usually think he just has a great imagination but every once in a while I give him the side eye, especially since we don't believe in God. I'm sure the God part he could have picked up anywhere.
There's a documentary called "The Boy Who Lived Before" about a little boy who talked about living in Barra in a past life and got lots of details about the Island and his family right. He said the same thing about how you wait around and then God sends you back as a baby through a hole.
There's also a book called Many Lives, Many Masters that has lots of similar stories about kids recalling past lives and time before coming back, etc. It's interesting to read even if you don't believe it.

The guy's GF died in a car crash, only he and her mother had access to her FB account, and he kept getting messages from it. Her FB account was also tagging dead GF in pictures with him when she wasn't there. Then he's tagged in a pic posted by her account, looking into his bedroom at himself on the computer. Basically implying that whoever/whatever is posting from her account was right outside his door.

The mold stories are FUCKING CREEPY. the ones where they text all messed up? omg. omg. omg. "I'm fine. I'm rtweaslky fine. I'm fine. I'M FINE."
/whimper
I know! I read them all last night and was too freaked to click the links to pictures and such, so I'm going back through this morning and clicking all the links and re-scaring myself. lol

It is a continuation, too. Other people picked up the plot line and expanded on it, so there is a whole giant collection of posts/stories that focus on the mold.

I think I've found them all, I need a list of mold stories! haha.
If you click the comma in the last update of that first story I linked, it takes you to the next story about waking up with amnesia in Chicago. That one's pretty fucking creepy, but the winner for me was the next one, called "Infected Town." I couldn't even put my feet on the floor when I was reading that one last night, I was all curled up in a ball.
