So these two first cousins are going to have the same first and middle names? Hilarious.
My BIL and his first cousin have the same first, middle AND last name. I understand the middle and last names...the last name is sort of fixed, and the middle name was DH/BIL/cousin's paternal grandfathers name (the use of which for a middle name is a cultural tradition). Not sure what possessed aunt and uncle to choose the exact same first name, though...even after all these years, it's mildly amusing and still sort of gets a WTF were they (DHs aunt and uncle, since they're the ones who "copied") thinking response out of me.
Post partum I would probably lose my shit. With a little distance, I'd then realize that sister's the one who's going to look fucking ridiculous forever.
I'm not even sure about time healing this. If my sister had named her kid the same damn perfectly normal first and middle as I had chosen for mine, seventeen years later I think I'd still be holding on to that grudge. (Disclaimer: She had her boys first. All four of our boys have perfectly ordinary names.)

So weird.
Something similar happened to my sister, but just with the first name. Her son and her SIL's son were born within weeks of each other and both have the same first name. I think they eventually just started calling the SIL's son by his middle name so it wouldn't be confusing for everyone.

I was originally going to say may be sister is messing with friend and not really going to name her kid the same name. But after the update, girlfriend is straight up cray cray.
