I laugh at the idea of 'push presents' but I just bought my own this weekend... $200 in wine and cider LOL I figured that with 2 kids I'd need extra alcohol.
I was in Michigan's wine country on a girls weekend where I was the only one not drinking. It was only fun because I had my 'designated taste tester' there with me to give me small sips of the wines she knew I'd like (we have similar tastes). I ended up buying wine at 3 of the 5 places we went...

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of "push presents" but this is definitely something I would get for myself! I'm due a week before my birthday so I could disguise it as a birthday gift...
I bought 2 bottles of wine about 3-4 years ago from my favorite winery in Napa. The first bottle was to celebrate when we bought our house. The second bottle was for when we had a baby. We will be opening that bottle in October to celebrate!!!
DH has been making suggestion of things HE wants as a push present. lol
See....now I would call the wine an investment ;-) Lol I've been telling DH I may start stocking up during this pregnancy so I'll have a nice little collection next year

On a semi-related note, DH and I bought a nice bottle of Port in Lisbon back in 2000. We said we would drink it for some big occasion. Our wedding went by, grad school graduations followed, bought a home and DD was born. We kept forgetting to drink it on all of those occasions. We FINALLY brought it with us the first weekend we ever left DD overnight and had a romantic getaway. It was absolutely perfect.

Haha, I bought myself a few bottles of my fave Door County seasonal wine (Witches Brew) while I was up there over the 4th. I'll be back there Labor Day weekend and you know I will be buying more! I'm going to have my wine fridge totally stocked by the time bunny comes!
i'm taking a "push trip to the wineries" once this baby comes!
i like the sound of this - but DH would be miserable since he just drinks the wine and doesn't really care about finding a new one. He'd be happy drinking Franzia Crisp White from a box forever - though - it's NOT a bad wine there's just more out there...

DH informed me when DS was born that my baby was my push present. I tend to agree with his reasoning. BUT by god if he wants to buy me some wine by all means I'll allow it.

booze are always a good gift!
I didn't think I'd really miss it, but I definitely noticed when I went out to dinner with friends and they all had cocktails while I had my little iced tea.
