Would you pay >$15 for nail polish (like Deborah Lippmann)? Would you pay for Chanel polish (>$25)? $50 for CL nail polish? More for limited edition luxury polishes? What's the most you would pay for a bottle of nail polish?
I love nail polish just as much as the next girl... but I wouldn't pay more than $10 probably for it and that's pushing it. I love Essie, and already think their $8 price tag is a bit much.
$8-10 is my max. I have several bottles of DL I purchased from sephora for only $4. I don't make enough $$ to justify chanel polish but I do love it from afar.

DL is my absolute favorite, but I only buy it at a discount on Gilt or Ebay. It's easy enough to find on sale. I refuse to pay full price. No way in hell am I paying $25+ for nail polish.

I'm HAPPY with $8 nail polish. Fifteen is still affordable, but hell, I get a very wide range of colors and brands for under $10. I frequently pick up perfectly good nail polish on the mark down shelf. Fifty is ridiculous. I mean, how much better can it get? It ain't gel, it's just nail polish.
Since I can get Essie, OPI, CND, and China Glaze at the professional beauty supply store for around $4 each, I'm SUPER cheap about nail polish. I doubt I would pay $15 for a bottle, so $50 is out of the question!

I usually wait for coupons/sales for purchasing any polishes, my favorites being Essie and OPI. I have splurged once or twice and gotten Butter London for full price, but that $15 price tag is normally more than I want to spend. I would never pay $25 or more.

I regularly buy BL and Chanel, but I do my own nails. My polish collection consists of those or Julep. I buy the occasional OPI, but haven't liked Essie's recent formula. I did just buy all the stuff to do Vinylux at home and am 3 days in with no chips, but I used their polish, top coat, and cleaner to get these results. I probably wouldn't splurge on the CL ones unless there's an amazing color.
I prefer to pay less but my max is about $8 for a bottle of Essie or OPI. When it comes to polish, I would rather have a bigger variety than better quality but fewer bottles.
Generally $10 or less. Exceptions, I bought one Chanel polish that was $25ish, and I bought one MAC polish in a discontinued color from eBay for a friend's present (b/c she looooved it) and paid $25ish.
I do buy DL polishes more often now--their glitters are the best and I haven't found good dupes. I have about 6, all purchased this year. I do have one Chanel polish I purchased, Peridot, because it was LE at the time and it was before 34,856 dupes came out. But I don't buy Chanel polishes in the regular. I do like BL and have several, but the vast majority of my polishes are in the $8-10 range.
I have paid ~$30 inc shipping for a discontinued and HTF OPI color because it is my favorite color of all time.
I ain't paying $50.
Basically, I will pay $$ for good, hard to find polishes. But do I buy them on a monthly basis or are they my sole source of polish? No. I also buy the $2 Sinful Colors and Wet 'N Wild polishes.
Usually my limit is 10 bucks. There have been occasions over the years where I've purchased a Chanel color if I had to have it but overall i'm buying at the drugstore with a sale.

I have such a large collection and range of colors that I don't see a need to spend more than $8ish on a bottle. I'd rather have more variety of colors in a lesser quality - I've tried some of the $$ brands from a friend, and they still don't last as long on my nails to warrant the cost.
My limit is also about $8, but I've found that my favorite polishes are cheap drugstore finds. I have some Essie and OPI colors, but the ones that last longest for me are Sally Hansen, Revlon, Maybelline, and Covergirl.
I haven't been able to bring myself to buy DL polish yet because of the cost. I guess that means I'm an under $15 polish buyer. I will, however, pay more for things like cuticle products, nail products, and the like. I can see myself spending a bit more on polishes that are unique that I love or ones that I would use a lot.
I doubt I would ever buy a Chanel color. I absolutely cannot see myself springing for CL polish. It's a basic red. Really what you're paying for at that price point is branding.
I would say my max is probably $8 as well. I love so many colors and different glitters and such I would be hard pressed to buy nail polish more expensive than that.
I'll spend $15 max, but that's on a color HAVE to have (BL All Hail the Queen) and even then I pause. I usually buy Essie and I use coupons at Ulta so I spend less than $8ea.
