Well, this is probably a cultural difference so I don't know that it's a bad name, but I work with a lady in India whose name is Vijaya. The first couple of conference calls we had it sounded an awful lot like Vagina. I didn't say her name until I saw it in writing because I didn't want to mispronounce it.
I personally don't know anyone with weird names, but I come across some at work sometimes.
Yes! An old friend's mom has this name, and I can't understand why she changed her last name when she got married. I certainly wouldn't have, in her shoes.
I can only think of one person, but she did it to herself because she took the married name. I can't remember her maiden, it wasn't bad though, but her new name is essentially Darin Doran*

stbx went to school with a Tom Thompson. He was adamant that we name one of our sons "Hugh" because of that and did not understand when I vetoed it with both boys. I actually mentioned it at a party at donnycornelious's house when I was pregnant with DS#1, as soon as I mentioned it the entire party was all "WTF? NO!". stbx was actually hurt that a whole house of women hated his name idea.
I know a few John Johnson's. One goes by Johnny. Johhny Johnson. I was at the post office today behind a woman who had a big tattoo on her back with her kids name. Nevaeh and Jaiden.
