When feminism makes it wrong to choose being a SAHM - then they restrict a right of the woman to choose. That is when I am against feminism. A choice to take time out for children does not negate your right to pursue a career.
I have seen a good many women lambasted for not putting their career first as hurting the women's movement.
There will never be a time when we will not need to continue to improve conditions and circumstances for women and children.
Oh god, seriously? Feminism is about being able to make the best choice for you, whether it's working or staying at home. And it's only fair that those who choose to work are compensated equally as those who do the same job.
Well feminism doesn't make it "wrong" to be a SAHM, so .....?
However, it does support more progressive paths for women which often include the woman being an independent member of the community and society, which includes volunteering and being employed. It acknowledges that women are pressured to "choose" traditional paths or face being judged by their families, friends, and society as "not good enough" as a woman and mother. In no way does it dissuade a woman from taking a traditional path, but instead, by educating a woman of alternatives and possibilities and their pros and cons, it helps the woman as an individual, women as a group, and all the people in a community, to treat all people as equal members of the community.

When, exactly, did feminism make it wrong to choose to be a SAHM? Why do you assume that those women who did the lambasting are the primary voice of feminism?

While there are some people who subscribe to a brand of feminism that claims staying home isn't a valid choice, they aren't the majority. lys, if you would actually spend some time perusing actual feminist sources instead of unquestionably accepting everything people on Fox News tell you feminism stands for, you would see that most feminists not only support every woman making the choice that is best for her and her own family, but also advocate measures that would actually GIVE everyone that choice- for example,a system in which people would have access to affordable health insurance independently of employment, and more family-friendly workplace policies so that parents of ANY gender could spend more time actively raising their kids in the way they feel is best. But you would dismiss all of that as communism, so there's really no point.

Seriously, who does lys think it is that's pushing for a higher minimum wage, paid maternity leave, and protection for breastfeeding mothers? Who does she think was the driving force behind the Pregnancy Discrimination Act? Conservative anti-feminists?
When I was younger, I thought feminists were "anti-male" and I might have rolled my eyes at the "war on women". As I grew older I realized feminism isn't about hating men, it's about respecting all people regardless of gender. Now I look back on my younger self and shake my head.

Ignore her, she just likes to be an antagonist.
Also ignore her because she'll never actually engage in a discussion; she just drops a half-baked nugget and never comes back.
