Need help deciding what to do for my birthday

For my last big b-day, we went to NYC. While it wasn't really "new" to me, I wanted something in driving distance but different than the beach. We told a bunch of friends what we were doing and said that if they'd like to join us, we'd love for them to come. So, quite a few did. It was a blast.

ETA: DH and I would have been fine going w/ just the two of us.  But I also enjoy doing these kinds of things w/ friends.  We knew 2 friends who were definitely in.  The rest were just icing on the cake.

Some birthdays I want to make a big deal and have a party. Some I'd love to just go away with P. Some I don't really want to do anything. Lol.

FWIW, for P's 40th, I took him to Toronto for the night. We went to the spa and had a super fancy dinner. It was lovely.

If you've never been to Vegas I say go. You can usually find pretty slick deals on groupon or through the hotels websites.

I usually stay at Vdara when I am there. I saw a groupon earlier this week for Aria for cheap.

Since your friends are busy I'd go for a trip.

Oh my response would be go out of town - something memorable. My 30th was not and I will always regret that I didn't do something I WANTED to do to remember it.

It's a big birthday. I say have a small, intimate dinner with some friends the weekend before your trip to Vegas with the mister.
