I'm in no way shape or form associated with theskimm, but I wanted to pass it along since a friend turned me on to it.
It's a (short) daily newsletter emailed to you that breaks down the day's news and tells you why it's important. It makes the news really easy to digest. Everything is broken down into about a paragraph with links to click if you want to read more.
It was started by 2 women (in their 20s) who used to work for NBC news.
That idea is terribly awkward, IMO. I hope to God it doesn't get funding because if it does, that just shows me everything goes.
LOL. I didn't see Meshi's post about the man servants (I read posts from the bottom up) and I didn't realize that people could have such an aversion to news that wasn't Fox news.
And then I re-read the first part and I was like WTF, man servant GTG? I must have missed something good.
And then I saw what Meshi posted. Yeah, it's been a long day.

Yeah I get really overwhelmed by all the terrible shit that happens in the world on a daily basis. Sensitive people problems.
On the plus side, I've been much happier since I stopped watching the news every morning.

Seriously. Ever since having kids I've become more sensitive about things and the news stories is probably the worst of it. All the stories of kids being left in cars, people killing people, natural disasters. I try not to watch it too often because I can't stand day after day of horrible stories. Before kids it wouldn't have bothered me at all to watch it all the time.
