I have a phone interview tomorrow. I've been told by the recruiter that the Controller is concerned that I'm looking so soon. I knew this was going to come up, but what is the best way to spin this to the actual company?
Facts: (pdq) *poof* but understand my reasons are legit.
I left my job to learn, which I thought would be my boss that hired me. I loved him but since he's left I've been left for the wolves.
My dear wonderful people of MM, spin this for me. Please. I'm desperate.
**Update** HR was very concerned about my wanting to leave so quickly and asked a lot of questions about it. I was honest about the concern for stability but also confirmed that I like this company and believe in their mission (which I do). I have a phone interview with the hiring manager today and if that goes well a few hour in person interview is next.

Agreed. I think that 2 bosses leaving in such a short time is a huge red flag and any recruiter can see that. I would emphasize that you intend to stay in a position for many years (based on your work history) and you current job doesn't appear that it will allow you to do that.
I would just be honest. Without bashing your current company. They should understand.
I'm leaving a company I've been at he same length if time as you. I was honest when I met with my new employer , that my current role us just not right for me and I made a judgement error. I did not go into how screwed up things are here. She could see that I was at my prior employer for 10 years so obviously this isn't a pattern

I would keep it to the facts that on say six the company was acquired and in the ___ months you've been there you've had two bosses quit, so you're looking for something with more stability.

I agree that all the factors you've mentioned would be useful in illustrating why you're interviewing. That said, you should also include some facts about the company where you're interviewing as it being so unique that you had to take advantage of the opportunity to speak with them.
All your reasons make it sound like you're running away from something (justifiably). But you should also spin it to sound like you're running toward something (i.e., them!).

Good luck!
Great point, and running away isn't what I want to convey! I looked at their website and their CEO has been there since 1997. I feel like this is a good sign.
