My DH, my sister, Leo, and I were just in a huge accident driving from MO to TX. We are 8 house from home and in the middle of Nowhere, OK. Everyone is ok, but very shaken up and we don't know how we are going to get home and get what we need for the baby if we are stuck here for a while.
Update-- We have a rental coming, then we have to go to the towing place and get the rest of our stuff out of the car. I think we are all ok. We decided to continue the drive home instead of staying over. Thanks for the T&P. send more for the rest of our trip!
Oh, my, good thoughts to you guys. Your insurance company should help you figure out an immediate plan, and get you a rental car or other transportation to get you home.
Not sure. We have family 4 hours in each direction, but nothing close. This place isn't even a town. Haven't seen a gas station for a while, not to mention a rental company or something.
I'm glad you're all OK. Keep a close eye on each other, just in case.
Are you near a town with a Walmart? Everything you need can be purchased there. If you need Rx, call your doctor and they can probably send a script to the pharmacy there.
If you're religious, maybe call the local church and reach out for help, too. I know we helped a whole bus load of people who were in an accident right outside of our town once. Even if you're not religious, any church worth anything should help you at least make sure you're safe and fed.

Insurance is sending a rental, but I hope it's something big because we have four people's luggage with us. We can live without our bags for a night, but not the baby's.
Being so far from home is the worst part. We have no one who can help us out here.
