That's great news! My doctor told me if I'm ever in a car accident, or have a hard fall, to make sure I am seen by a retinologist. Also, I can't do any kind of high impact exercise......even walking on a treadmill kicks off all kinds of flashing lights etc on me. In fact, I got my first bleeding retina walking on a treadmill.
I'm glad you saw your Dr and the report was good. I too have horrible vision so every time I see me Dr he reminds me to contact him if I see floaters etc.
I'm 31 and have had floaters as long as I can remember. I think they're common with severe myopia (my contact lens prescription is -9). My optometrist always asks if I've had any flashes or floaters, and I tell her that I have floaters like always, and she's never been concerned. The one time I was concerned about retinal detachment was when I saw a curtain of light. I made an urgent appointment with my optometrist, but it turned out to be a migraine (first and only).
Are they making it difficult to see? I have always had them so I guess I've learned to ignore. But yeah, if this is a sudden change then get to your doctor ASAP.
This is me too. I can't remember a time when I did not have floaters. At my eye exam last week, I'm a -11.5.
What sucks was that I was a fairly stable -9 or so until I hit menopause. The last 4-5 years, I've gone up a little each time. Last time, I only went up -0.25 so am hoping it is starting to slow down.
