I'm making my sister sew Natalie a Star Wars sundress since we will be there during Star Wars weekends.
I agree TH breakfast sounds better than 'Ohana.
We did SWW for the first time during our May trip. We went the first two Saturdays. The kids absolutely loved it, particularly the parade. DH also got himself a customized rebel pilot figurine. They took a bunch of pictures of his face and it actually is a pretty good likeness

I hope we enjoy it. We have always gone in the fall previously and I LOVE THE FALL. But I can't take the kids out of school, and we don't get a long enough break in the fall to do what we want to do. So, the end of May it is. My oldest will be celebrating his 16th birthday there though, so that's pretty fun!
My boys are 5 and 3, and they had the best time. We had always gone in the fall and winter as well, until this past may trip (DH had to go for work, and they were willing to book all of us into a value resort, so I took off work and spent the week with the kids in the parks, and DH joined us on the weekends).
It was hot, but we modified our usual plan by getting to the parks at opening, staying a few hours and then coming back and swimming all afternoon. We got to be there for the end of May 24 hour event. That was a ton of fun!
My 3 year old has been asking to go back to Star Wars Weekends since we got home
We added Tusker House breakfast and may drop Ohana breakfast. Definitely only keeping one of the two and TH menu sounds better to me.
The clothes are the biggest reason I am sad we're going to US and not Disney. There aren't really cute outfits for Universal. I could dress her as a minion every day, but she has no idea what that is.

I think we will be ok with the heat. In the fall when we go it's still very hot and humid (late sept or very early October).
Yeah, you'd be used to that then. We usually go Mid November to Mid December (but not during Thanksgiving) and it's much cooler compared to late May.
@starry what outfits did you get? links? We are going to Disney it two years for their 5th bday but I plan on getting at least the girls ridiculous outfits to wear everyday.
I've been working with John, but my mom swore that AAA could do better. Guess what, AAA is no longer partnering with Disney for discounts. So now we're tentatively booked at Port Orleans Riverside with AAA and I'm waiting for John to get back with me b/c my parents said Wilderness Lodge was too much. The beach club was all booked except for $$$$ rooms.
Apparently the AAA lady told my mom that people reserve rooms right away for the week hold and they may release more in a week and we can move our reservation.
Oh and no movement on the DVC rental and not having enough points either.
This is really too much for me to handle planning a vacation with them.
If we are planning to go November 2015 when do I need to get serious about booking things?
2015 package booking opened today. When do you plan to go? If its thanksgiving week, I'd book now (its only a $200 deposit) and you can always cancel if you change your mind. or change your dates, hotel, etc

We moved our trip up to December when we realized the other week that this year we could time it right with my work to be there over one of the less busy weeks, get free dining, and see everything all decorated for the holidays. Usually that timing wouldn't work for us, and I am crazy excited to everything decked out for the holidays. We're staying at Coronado Springs. We've got ADRs, though they're kind of all over the place right now since we booked after the 180 day mark, so I'm working on figuring out what we want to keep, etc.
Is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party worth it? DD will be 2.5 and usually goes to bed around 8, but she can probably stretch it to 9:30 or so fairly easily if she's busy.

I'll let you know--we're doing MVMCP with C in mid-November! He will be a little over two at that point. I'm hoping that he will either fall asleep in the stroller if he can't hang, or we can send him back to the hotel with one of the four adults in the party.

I am planning to go Thanksgiving week 2015, and I just looked at the rates online (which are available now, thank you! I've been checking.) But the DVC property rates are not there. Any idea why? Last time we went we stayed at Bay Lake but booked it like a hotel room. I might look into renting DVC points this time around, but I can't do that yet so I would like to reserve maybe a studio at BLT or GF for that week. When will those rates be out, do you know?
Because they only release rooms to Disney reservations (non-DVC) if a DVC member trades their points in for a regular Disney room which is rare (so there is no way to know when stuff will pop up online). I think Disney owns a small amount of DVC points/rooms, but very little. Before DVC resorts were sold out, DVC would rent the rooms to Disney to sell. Now basically all the points are owned by members so there is nothing to rent to Disney.

Ok, so thanks to this I am now narrowing in on the dates and details. Who is this travel agent everyone is talking about?? I feel lost lol
I'm not a reg here but we just booked a late Jan trip - I'm so excited, I've been stalking the Dis boards like a crazy person to help pick our hotel and all of my meal reservations.
SHOULD I GET MEMORY MAKER OR NOT? I have a nice DSLR camera... argh!
I can give you my opinion next week when we get back. I got it for our trip and in theory I'm liking it. We are staying offsite but I bought magic bands and it is easy to get pictures everywhere and just add them to the memory maker via the band. I just don't know if they suck yet. Every character meeting they took photos and we've gotten some in other areas of the parks. They had a photographer that took photos during the Jedi training academy from a dedicated space and they looked good on the screen when we added them from the card to our magic band. DH didn't come to the park this morning and it was nice getting a few pictures of DS and me together without asking people.
DS has declared everything awesome so far even Carousel of Progress. He cracked up so much at Hoop Dee Do Revue that the table next to us was laughing at him. He is loving getting autographs and trading pins (I got a bunch on eBay for cheap when we went to DL two years ago and he's still trading). Employees seem to have endless patience with kids and making things magical for them.
But damn July is hot. Free lodging will never be worth it for Disney in July again, at least til I forget all the sweating.

I'm looking at pricing today. My FIL is planning on coming with us and this is really complicating things in regards to hotel reservations. Since DD3 will only be 15 months at the time, she doesn't count toward occupancy rates but FIL obviously does. With him going, we're pretty limited on what rooms we can get and the ones we can are $$$.
I'm thinking about going with a cabin at Fort Wilderness for this reason. I'm assuming that's part of the Wilderness Lodge. Does anyone know for sure about this?
Why are no villas available anywhere during our dates?! Ugh.

Fort wilderness cabins are not part of The wilderness lodge.
It's a cAmpground and very spread out! It's apparently a huge pain unless you have your own car.
What about two rooms at pop century?
So that's why they were so cheap, lol.
I haven't researched Pop Century yet. I'll have to check it out.
