We have a chance to move to Hawaii as our next duty station. Money not a factor since the military pays for the move and for the higher cost of living, would you want to live there? It wouldn't be a permanent move. We would be there for about 3 years or so.
I always say I want to live in Hawaii but in reality it's too far away from my family so I probably wouldn't. If I win the lottery and could fly people out as often as they (and I wanted)then I absolutely would.
However, in the military, your other options may be further away so I might go for it.

My family lives in Florida and we picked California as our current duty station. My mom was/is mad that we moved so far away, but I love it here.

Agree with the others. I couldn't do it forever because I would feel isolated, but I think that for having costs covered and a definitive time of 3 years, it's a perfect set up.
Only if I and my family could afford airfare to visit. My dad was stationed at Pearl Harbor for a while when I was a kid and I loved it. My memories there are some of my earliest clear memories. However, as an adult, we would have a hard time being away from family that long, because we wouldn't be able to afford airfare for 4 more than once a year, if that.
For a military station, abso-fuckin-lutely. My brother (USAF) has a list of 2 stations that he will stay in for since he's eligible for retirement. Hawaii and Virginia (we all live in VA and he is retiring here), anywhere else and he's retiring.
I really want to say yes, but being so far from family would give me a lot to think about. If you don't have homesickness issues, though, then definitely, 100% go!
