Hi all - I'll be in Seattle in mid-August and I'm hoping you can help me.
We booked an AirBNB a while ago, but yesterday we got word that our host canceled all their reservations. So now we need to scramble and find someplace else to stay. We're hoping to pay $250/night or less, and closer to $200 would be ideal, but we aren't finding much. A lot of places are booked between Aug 15-17. A coworker told me that Hempfest is that weekend - anything else going on that may be causing the hotel shortage?
We're flying in from NJ and we'll be using public transit and cabs, no rental car, so the suburbs won't work. Plus we will be flying in late and will need to get to the hotel right away, and we have to be able to get to the Amtrak station early on a Sunday morning to get us to PDX. We just need two nights - I looked on Bedandbreakfast.com but a lot of places require at least three.
And MH tried Priceline but didn't have any luck.
So, if you have any tips I'd be grateful. A neighborhood with affordable hotels and easy access to the city center? A hidden gem hotel or B&B? A good place that offers Groupons?
I'm looking at Hotels.com and you can get a room at the W for $255 a night for those days, I loved staying there. Or Inn at Queen Anne is $209 a night, I haven't stayed there but it's relatively near the Seattle Center.

I just ran into this today and ended up putting co-workers up at the Silver Cloud on Broadway. Even the employees coming in mid week were looking at ridiculous hotel prices.
I always recommend The Moore Hotel. I love it there. It's probably the cheapest hotel in Seattle. I think it's a good hidden gem. We stayed there on our wedding night in one of the suites and it was great. Our room was $120/night iirc.
It's in downtown Seattle so close/walking distance to everything. The rooms are honestly quite nice, IMO. For two nights, that you are probably going to be busy with, I wouldn't bother with a super fancy hotel. Unless you plan on spending time in the hotel...but that's just me.
