There's a picture floating around FB of a local 22 year old who ODed and died d/t heroin. His mom took a picture of him DEAD on his bedroom floor after CPR was performed and EMTs attempted to revive. Then there's a picture of his body bag.

Meh, heroin does kill a lot of people who think it can't happen to them. It wasn't the EMT/random person unrelated to the victim taking the pics, so I don't have a problem with it. If you don't want to see it, just hide it. Maybe some idiot kid will realize how awful heroin overdose is.

Heroin is on the rise like crazy here.
I've heard theories that it is because it is cheaper than oxy and the like. And yes, I know at least two people (indirectly) that have died since January of a heroin o/d. It is awful.

I can't judge a grieving mother's actions. I do judge people who share that shit with an ominous "Super graphic photo!!" warning.
there is absolutely no reason to share the finial image of someone in that way. If people want to honor someone, post a happy picture, not one showing how he succumbed to his addiction.

This is why my brother started using heroin. He was doing oxy, and when he couldn't find or afford that, he used heroin.
Did anyone see a video of three kids dying in the middle of the road from a car accident. I couldn't finish it and didn't hear it but it looked real. My fb friend who posted it said it was a lesson to not text and drive.
I can't judge a grieving parent. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of seemingly absurd things I might do in that situation.
I'm guessing she's trying to educate people about the dangers of heroin. It's working...we are talking about it! He was once her baby boy...I'm sure she never expected it to happen to him!
It's also important for people to realize that these heroin deaths are not always addicts. Some are users, but not addicts. It can happen on the very first try. You don't have to be an addict to die from a drug o/d, though that's generally what people assume. Then we draw the conclusion that it CAN'T happen to me/him/her because no one is addicted.

Yes! 3 teen girls that crossed the middle line and hit another car head on? Great ad (great as in.. It accomplishes what it sets out to do.. Scare people away from texting).
If you never text and drive already, don't watch it.. OMG. But if you do occasionally text and drive, force yourself to watch. I guarantee you won't want to afterwards.
I shit you not, that ad has stuck with me and every single time I start to text when I'm driving (when I'm back home) that fucking ad pops into my head.
Wait was it real crash? It was so graphic and disturbing becAuse it looked like there were a handful of people just watching them suffer, not helping them and it was very graphic. Like I said, I couldn't finish it so I have no idea and I ended up blocking it on my feed.
ugh. somebody on my fb posted a news story about a girl who smothered her baby and posted pictures of his dead body in a white baby tuxedo. the news story included the pictures. i FRANTICALLY messaged the poster's big sister to tell her that her younger sister must have been hacked because there is a picture of a dead baby on her fb. nope, not hacked. actually posted.
I would have blocked that person, ugh. I get people grieve differently but some of us who've lost children get instantly triggered by photos like that. I had to block one of H's work friends because he made a picture of his dead daughter his Facebook profile picture. I get the fear that people will forget about our kids even existing but just glancing at pictures like that makes me feel like an elephant is stomping my chest.
My fb friend from HS's husband passed away due to a heroine overdose several months ago. It was quite shocking because they appeared to be a normal family in a beautiful home with a healthy little girl. I loosely knew her husband through my SIL and we both agreed that we had a preconceived notion that heroine users were homeless people living on the train tracks in the bad side of town. It's hard to imagine the attractive guy at the car dealership as a heroine user. And it's true that you never, ever know what goes on behind closed doors.

I'm sorry. The people that I indirectly know are all through my younger brother. These people are in their 20s. A lot of them already had issues, but it seems like there are also a lot who just try it. It is so dangerous and people don't seem to understand that because they equate it with the high they get from oxy.
