I'm just going to use this thread as a little therapy session. I feel like I am constantly swimming upstream with fashion. I'm not unfashionable. I dress pretty nicely, a little conservatively. Why do I feel like I am looking for things that don't exist? Why is it so hard to find a couple of blazers with elbow patches, some nice wrap dresses with funky patterns, and some cool straight legged skinny pants in fun colors with dressy butt pockets?!?! And some cool scarves. For prices that don't make me want to gouge my eyes. out.
I can't like this dress because I was a direct competitor of Eliza J when I was a designer. I actually replaced a girl that left another dress company to be their designer. Lol
I think we can find you a much better print. What's this dress being worn for?

I thought this dress looked like some bitch designed it!
I don't need a dress like this. I'm just trying to add some pieces into my wardrobe for teaching and being around campus. And I'm struggling because 1.I need to look like faculty and not a student, 2. I wore lots of skirts and dresses in SC and that isn't nearly as practical up north when I am walking to work, and 3. I feel like I don't know how I want to dress. I don't know what I want.
I'm not an angsty person by nature, but clothes are the thing I get stressed over to the point of just walking away. And I love clothes!
For dresses similar to Eliza J try Donna Morgan , Ali Ro ( more contemporary), Banana Republic usually has good wear to work wrap dresses. You can find Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dresses on sale a lot at off5th/nordstrom/bloomie's. Laundry by Shelli Segal has a good dress line with wear to work styles.
Are you wanting dresses or pants, though? Or you don't know? =P

Try Boden. I feel like the company offers classic clothes with a little twist, whether it be bright colors or interesting prints. The prices aren't cheap, but the quality is good and Boden has sales all the time.

And you should buy this because you are taller than me and it gets cold where you live. Buuuut you might get confused with Rachel from Glee if you show off your singing voice while sauntering off to class. www.modcloth.com/shop/coats/rainy-rendezvous-coat

Thanks Hun! I have a wrap dress from banana in my cart right now. And I will look at the other lines.

Loft and h and m make up most of my wardrobe. I find h&m hard to shop at online though. But I'm going to try to go to the physical store once more before Saturdays move to the country.
I agree with all the suggestions. I bet you could find some things you like at modcloth and Boden. Gap always has skinny pants in lots of colors for the fall. I have a few dresses by Donna Morgan like Lola suggested and they are good quality. They have that band of a different pattern at the hem like the one you posted.
