I have no qualms about plastic surgery. In fact, I'm envious of the people who are brave enough to have procedures done. I'm chicken shit.
I'm planning on getting one line in my "11" botoxed next month and its making me anxious. What if I'm that .00001% that has an adverse reaction?!!
I really want to try the freeze lipo procedure but I'll wait until my 40s. Or something to get rid of my c-section lip. Its not awful but it bugs me.
I have a deep "1" in my "11" because of an acne scar. I am definitely getting a consult on that when I'm done with pg and BFing. Filler or Botox to prevent it from getting worse.
I dislike comments/jokes about how my child would be able to go to college (or we would be able to finance higher education) were it not for my penchant to buy her cute clothes. I don't need passive aggressive comments making me feel guilty about how I dress my daughter. This is a general vent and not directed at anyone here.

I doubt any of us will be able to afford higher education for our kids anyway... With the crazy way it keeps going up no worries

Oh! I have one!
I really hate that man maternity photo thing going around FB now. Men, you're not allowed to make fun of a really incredible thing that happens to our bodies. A soft belly is not even close to the same thing as a pregnant belly. So shut up.

Were you lurking when that started? There was an AE that came around and told us that anyone who buys their kids fancy clothes are wasting their money and we should be saving for college yadda yadda. Of course we don't love being judged so it became a joke.

This doesn't ring a bell, so I'd say no. I'm not sure that I've seen it here, but comments like that are popping up more often in my Facebook circle. And I'm certain the people weren't joking. It's just a sore spot because I already feel guilty about not putting the money towards a more practical use.

Dressing a child is practical Are you on food stamps and buying baby Gucci? Even if you are, not my money, not my business.

I am going to vomit if I have to see that link one more time.
I think people who comment about the clothes and college don't really understand numbers lol. I mean, college costs like 100k. I doubt buying some nice dresses for your child is going to actually make a difference in your ability to pay for their college in 15 years time
Also I'm choosing to believe that in 15 years when matilda goes to college things will have changed dramatically and it will be reasonably priced. Or she'll get loans. I'm not focusing any of my energy on thinking about trying to accumulate 100k per child for their college.
or, maybe I will be able to send my children to ireland for free education

But you could buy a semester's worth of books if you bought Old Navy clearance instead of Janie and Jack!!!!!!

Very true. But if I think about how much I spend on clothes in a given year and invested that money instead, then its value would increase significantly over the course of 15 years. Like I said, I harbor some guilt, not that it stops me from getting the pretty dresses.
Since we are talking about clothes and college......
I can guarantee that what I spend now is MUCH less that what I will be spending when the boys are teenagers. And they are BOYS. I can only imagine girls and the $$$$ spent on clothes and make up and tampons.
So, I feel like I'm getting a bargain now no matter where I shop.
***I know I don't HAVE to buy name brand stuff (or make up or whatever) for my toddlers or future teenagers one day, so don't flame me okay?

Totally not picking on you, just trying to reduce your guilt
Aren't interest rates still less than 1%? I don't see them sky rocketing anytime soon. How much money are you spending that that interest rate -even after 15 years- is going to matter?
Put your kid in whatever you want while they let you and tell your friend her purse is ugly and to mind her own business.

I think women posting these "I don't need feminism in the 21st century" and "I don't need a label like feminist" signs and whatnot don't even understand what feminism is.
My UO is that I don't think most late night shows or skits on SNL are funny. I used to think SNL was funny, but I rarely do now. I don't know if I'm just missing something? I do think funniest home videos and Ridiculousness is funny (that last one is embarrassing haha)

My real UO. I don't like all these books and seminars about people's success stories. At work they're having a seminar about this guy who had a career, a family, kept it all balanced and managed to competitively play chess. It's supposed to be inspirational and offer tips on how to do all that. Good for you guy. But I'm practically bleeding out my ears trying to keep my life together.
I know some people are successful and have it all, but man, I need a few books and seminars that says it's ok to not have it all. I need the book, "Happy with your mediocre life"
For me personally, I can't think of anything worse than having to wear a dress to work. I feel like my thighs would get so sweaty and it grosses me out. I have never worn a dress or skirt to work. Ever.
I'm the opposite. I'm wearing pants today for the first time since early May because I'm completely out of passably clean skirts/dresses, and I'm not happy about it. Dresses rock! You don't have to worry about anything matching because it's a one piece outfit. Love it.
I didn't know thighs sweated. I get feet, armpits, lower back, and forehead sweat, but how do thighs ever get hot enough to sweat? I feel like mine have no sensation of hot/cold.

Well, not only am I on the curvy side, but I'm also knock-kneed. So my thighs, if I'm not wearing anything under a dress, are constantly touching, thus creating sweatiness for me. Ew. ;0)
