Connor's 2nd birthday is coming up in September, and I'm trying to keep it really low key since I'll be pretty far along. One of my girlfriends mentioned that they went to a brunch party, and how it was nice that they were home by nap time and it didn't take up a weekend night.
General idea- 10-12 (should I just leave the end time blank?) Breakfast stromboli, donuts, fruit tray, coffee, mimosas Moon Bounce set up in the backyard- hope for good weather Thomas the Train is C's favorite thing EVER (right now, lol), so I was thinking of just getting some Thomas plates, decorations, etc to make him happy. Not pinterest worthy, like the general Target stuff.
Am I missing any details? We've decided to only invite friends with kids his age to keep the guest list smaller, we'll probably have about 25 people total.
I LOVE early morning kid b-day parties. DS doesn't nap anymore, but seriously - we're up early. Let's knock the party out and then have the rest of the day to do whatever.

Ok, yay!
Even kid birthday parties that are wrapped up by bedtime end up taking up the whole night bc I'm too tired to do the bedtime thing and then switch gears to have a sitter and a night out.

I'm planning this type of party for J's second as well. A girlfriend of mine did a pancakes and pajamas party for her son and I thought it was such a great idea. Like PP said. Get that shit done with.

Ok, now I want to do pancakes and pajamas bc it sounds cute! lol
We did a brunch party for DS1's 2nd birthday & I don't think I'll ever host an afternoon kids' party again. I've even done brunch bridal & baby showers since then. They're all a big hit. People can come and party, then go do whatever they need to do for the day. It's especially nice when we have family from out of state here. We have the rest of the day to spend together instead of taking up the entire day cooking, cleaning, and setting up for the party!
