I swear I have more going on in my life than neighbor annoyances. This is just the only place I air those grievances lol.
We have new people who moved in across the street from us. I wrote in an irrational irritations thread before about how it annoys me they park 2/3 cars in front of our house, instead of on the street in front of their own house, when they have all that space totally open. They park one car in their own driveway and none in the garage. When they are entering/exiting cars/unpacking stuff from the car, they often walk up into our front yard a few feet, which of course makes my dog go ape shit, so then they turn around and glare at her in the window. Dude, you're on MY lawn.
Anyway, now as of late, they are parking them closer and closer to our driveway. Looking out my window, eyeballing it, I'd say one car is parked within a foot of my driveway opening.
I got on our city's page, and it says you may not park within five feet of any driveway as measured from the opening of the driveway. They're definitely within 5 feet.. And for NO reason! The whole street is wide open. I don't get this at all.
Would you do anything about this or just inwardly be annoyed? I can't do anything about them parking on public street in front of our house, but now they keep getting closer and closer to our driveway opening, to the point it's hard to see oncoming traffic around them and hard to maneuver out of our own driveway. Ideally, I guess I'd start by talking to the homeowner. They just moved in two weeks ago. One day, we were in our front yard working when the dad and his son (teenager) were walking to their car. We waved, smiled, and yelled out "Good morning" to them, thinking they'd say something in return and we would go over and introduce ourselves. The dad just glared at us and got in the car without saying a word. They had only been living here a week, and for most of that week, we were on vacation and not home. I do not get his reaction.
So tl;dr: The neighbors act weird to us and like they hate us, though we did nothing, yet they are parking too close to our driveway. Would you say something to them directly? Do nothing and inwardly be annoyed? Call the city?

Yeah, H has mentioned the parking our cars in the street thing. I could try that for a few days. A 2 car garage was a must for us when we were house hunting, so I like taking full advantage of it lol. But since the weather is nice right now, I could try it and see if they take the ever so subtle hint.
I'd call the non-emergency police line or city and try to get someone to come ticket their cars, but I'm mean like that. If you don't want to go that route yet, I like the lawnmower idea or parking your cars there's for a few days.

While many of these suggestions are tempting, I think I will stick with something legal for now lol.
I didn't even think of the sprinkler thing, and weirdly enough, H and I were just discussing how we need to start watering the front yard because it isn't getting enough rain with the huge tree we have out front. We can also try passive aggressively parking our cars out front for a few days.
I am going to be PISSED if they are still pulling this crap this winter when they're ordered to be off the streets and the front of our house/driveway can't get plowed. Then I will definitely call.
Got a dog? Put poo right outside their car door by the curb. Lots of it. And time the sprinklers to go off when they are likely to need to get in the car and turn off the oscillating feature so they get wet

This was going to be my suggestion too. Or plant a row of spiky cactus at the edge of your lawn.
Seriously though, you have some weird and shitty neighbors. wtf.
Our neighbors used to do this. We don't have much street space in front of our house and it was really annoying. We started parking a car there and eventually they got the hint. It wasn't actually the neighbors doing the annoying parking- it was their relatives. The wife has a giant family so there are always several nieces and their boyfriends staying with them. So maybe that's the case with your neighbors? It's their weird relatives?
Um, yeah. I would call the city and tell them there is a car parked too close to your driveway and ask them to come ticket it. But I'm kind of aggressive like that. I get suuuuper irritated when people pull shit like that. It happens a ton on our street because we live like a quarter block from a YMCA.

Not in any way related to the topic at hand, but it isn't damaging at all to push in the stem of the tire so that the air goes out. In fact, the only thing the person affected would have to do is put air in their tires. Just random fact that is interesting. Oh, and later in the evening, no one would think twice to look at a person adjusting the placement of their sprinklers etc.

Then turn on the sprinklers as they are checking their tires

Absolutely. Of course, you must apologize profusely for accidentally getting them.
There is a passive aggressive street parking war going on in my neighborhood right now. It's not pretty.
It's gotten to the point that one neighbor is now parking in the other neighbor's DRIVEWAY to make a point.
Please just talk to them and tell them to park in front of their own house. Don't let it get to the point where people are towing other peoples cars like what's happening in my neighborhood.

I bet they're doing it because the way they drive home they don't have to turn around to park in front of your house. Lazy bastards. Ooh! Get your cars and flank their cars so they can't get out until one of you moves! Put your dog on a stake in the yard juuust long enough to almost touch them with his nose when he charges them!
The college boyfriend of the girl cattycorner from us always parked at the exact foot of the driveway so I'd have to do a 75 point turn to get out. One time I saw them lingering on her porch and hopped in my car and in full view of them both backed out super slowly until I was a hairsbreadth away from his driver door. I gave them the fake friendly neighbor wave and drove off. He stopped after that.

Uh, that sounds aggressive aggressive. :/
Yep. It's pretty nasty and I'm staying the fuck out of it!
Oh, crap. I bet it IS PA. I think they are hinting for a key party to resolve the neighborhood differences. I mean, what solves differences like banging your neighbor's wife??
