So, for the past 16 cycles I've never had a LP surge later than day 15. For the past 12 cycles, my LP surge has been day 13 and 14, and I've gotten ovulation pains on day 15. Today is CD16...nothing. I've been using OPKs since CD8, and nothing.
I know it's still possible that I'll O later in the month, but is it also possible this is an anovulatory cycle? Are anovulatory cycles fairly normal?
This has happened to me. My past cycles I have O'd around CD 12-15. My past 2 cycles I haven't O'd until CD28. I thought I was going to have an anovulatory cycle until I finally got that postive OPK. Our bodies does some crazy things.
Anovulatory cycles definitely happen. I thought I was having one last month, but then had a long surge and O'd (according to FF) almost a week later than normal. That seems to be happening again this month which is so annoying. My body is all screwed up from the CP.
That sucks! The same thing happened to me this cycle. I'm like clockwork and always O early in the cycle. This cycle all my OPKs were negative. I don't know if my LH surge was too short and I missed it, if I Od late (i gave up testing at CD 18), or if I didn't ovulate. We'll see what happens...
Are you temping or just doing OPKs? I'm wondering you have confirmed your O times for your other cycles.
It is totally normal to have one or more 'wonky' cycles over the span of a year.
It could be annovulatory, or just that you are Oing later than normal.
I don't temp because I very rarely get uninterrupted sleep long enough to get down to a resting temperature. I have pretty severe insomnia, so it doesn't really lend itself to temping. I use OPKs, CM, cervical position, and have ovulation pains. Obviously, without temping, I have no way of knowing for sure if I O, but based on all other factors, I am ovulating, consistently.
