I run it usually only twice a week when it's super full. We hand wash pots/pans and other large items. We have a lot of plates, cups, bowls, silverware..Lillian has at least 10 sippy cups.
I mean, H and L are gone all day so it's just really dinner plates. Her breakfast doesn't always use a bowl or plate either.
every night. it's usually full, but if it isn't, I throw in dog bowls and high chair trays and anything else I can find because I can't run it if it's not completely full.
We do when it's full usually like every other day. We have enough dishes that we don't have to run it if it's not full. I don't hand wash anything except this one huge pot we have that's nonstick.

I'm going to have to show this thread to Mr. Muppet. He freaks out all the time because he thinks we run the dishwasher too much. Really, it's probably twice a week unless I'm doing a lot of cooking. He just thinks it's more than that because he fails to turn it on at night. (He hates listening to it, so turns it on after I go to bed when he goes down to his office) Then, it takes us a day or two to empty it.
Probably about 3 times a week. We hand wash all of our pots, pans, and big dishes. We also cook the majority of our food on the BBQ, so that eliminates a lot of dishes. Since DH cooks and I do the dishes, I love those nights when everything is cooked on the grill!
