DH and I are going to Niagara Falls (staying in NOTL) for a few days in September. Any recommendations for restaurants, wineries, things to do are appreciated! We will definitely want to do one of the boat trips near the falls, but we have few ideas beyond that.
Whatever you do, don't eat at the outdoor restaurant on the deck closest to the falls (I don't know the name, but you'll know which one I mean). My FIL was insistent on eating there because of the view and the food was practically inedible. Fine if you want a drink, but no to the food.
We did a short trip to Niagara in September a few year ago. I can't remember how many days, maybe 4 or 5? I think it was 3 nights in Canada and 2 in NY.
We spent a full day (or 2) on the Canadian side of the falls, just doing all the activities. Then we had a day doing NOTL winery tours, it turns out there was a wine festival going on that weekend, so we had a deal where you paid one fee and got tastings and food at each winery you stopped out. Then we went over to the NY side that evening bc the next day we had a guide booked for salmon fishing (September is the salmon run on the Niagara river, but that only appeals to some folks lol). Our last day was on the NY side of the falls, doing the more naturalized/less commercial state park side.
It was the perfect length trip, we got to do everything we wanted to. Overall, a great break.
I enjoyed the journey under the falls, which might be better on the US side. We had dinner with a view at The Keg on the CA side by the Marriotts which was also right by a casino.

Cave of the Winds is the US side ones. It was pretty cool. And you get awesome sandals to keep in your emergency kayak bag lol

Journet Behind the Falls was fun. We did a weekend in NOTL a few years ago and had a grrat trip. Jackson Triggs was our fave. We also ate at the Keg and it was great.
