I'm attending a wedding next month so I've been trying to find something to wear. I found the following dress yesterday. This is an ok dress for a wedding right? I definitely want to make this one work since it only cost me $0.77 after tax! Very MM.
FYI, I'm not a dress person, rarely wear a dress, so I need help. I've actually been thinking of wearing pants, but since I found this $0.77 dress, I can make an exception. LOL.
Questions:
1. Do you think the dress is okay to wear to a wedding? The wedding will be outside and bride said wear casual.
2. What shoes would you recommend? I assume a black would be a no? I prefer no/low heels since I mostly wear tennis shoes, plus I have a 16mos old.
3. Any accessories? What kind of necklace? short, long? Any other accessory I should consider?

The bolded is really the key - I think the dress is fine for an outdoor, casual wedding.
My opinion on shoes tends to be the polar opposite of MM's, but I would recommend something like gold or bronze shoes instead of black. I also think you're fine to wear flats to an outdoor, casual wedding.
Since the bride said more casual dress, this dress is perfect. I would wear nude shoes if you can (the black seem too stark against it) and definitely a long necklace with that neckline.
1. Do you think the dress is okay to wear to a wedding? The wedding will be outside and bride said wear casual. Absolutely
2. What shoes would you recommend? I assume a black would be a no? I prefer no/low heels since I mostly wear tennis shoes, plus I have a 16mos old. I'm assuming the wedding is soon? I'd go for a light colored ballet flat or sandal
3. Any accessories? What kind of necklace? short, long? Any other accessory I should consider? A fun necklace that hits where that first full band is would be cute. A bracelet would be fun as well. Do you wear earrings?
4. Other suggestions? If it's going to be cool at some point, i'd get a wrap to go with it.
Nude sandals/pumps for sure. Black is too severe with that color. I think a sparkle-y statement necklace that creates more of a v-neck illusion would be really nice.
drloretta I just checked the weather in Kauai, and it looks like weather will be fine. The wedding is next month.
This would be perfect for the few Hawaii weddings I have been to (with locals). Might bring a wrap or sweater if it is outdoors in case there is some intermittent rain.
I'll be honest, I think that dress is too casual for a wedding even in Kauai outdoors with the details you give.
Do you have a maxi dress with a fun print or something a little dressier?
Nope, I don't have any maxi dress. I rarely wear a dress and I don't own that many dresses (no more than 5). I probably only have 1 that fits me right now. Still need to lose all the pregnancy weight. Grrr!.
I did wear a dressier one 2yrs ago on my cousin's wedding (also in Kauai) since it was a formal wedding. Even if that still fits, I'm sure everyone agrees not to wear the same thing.
