I really love the double wedding ring but it is pretty advanced, my mom is a very talented quilter and the double wedding ring that she did is still one of her favorite quilts.
So they aren't getting married until next spring... thank goodness! From what she told me the number 16 is very important to their relationship. So I'm considering:
1) a swoon quilt with 16 blocks, 16x16in in size with a 16inch border 2) a 16 block quilt with 16 different 16x16in blocks (log cabin, swoon, ect)
I think swoon would looks good in her colors (coral and navy) with a different low volume background for each block.
I need to hit the fabric store.
I was thinking this would work the other day, but didn't have any fabric in front of me. Cotton + Steel has a bunch of nice navy and coral prints. I do the club here and got it in the mail today and several have those colors. Some have metallic though.

I accidentally clicked on crafts (and am totally inept at anything creative myself) but wanted you all to know how much I cherish the wedding quilt made by my sister in law and the afghan made by sister for my wedding. I cherish those gifts beyond all others.
