We're flying out Wednesday morning, and trying to meet up with some friends in London on Tuesday night. Our hotel is by Heathrow, and they live in Putney (near East Putney tube stop). I'm trying to find someplace convenient to both of us, most likely via Tube. They are new to town (just moved in last week!) and we don't know London very well. We're looking for someplace fun, casual, and relatively family friendly (they have a 13-yo daughter, and we have a 4 month old). Any recommendations?
If you want to stick to the tube I would suggest Hammersmith. It would be direct on the Picadilly Line from Heathrow (about 40 mins but no changes required) and about 20 mins from East Putney (one change at Earls Court). There are lots of restaurants near the station. I would recommend Bill's (http://bills-website.co.uk/restaurants/london-hammersmith/)as it has something for everyone, is quite nice and is child-friendly.

That's perfect. I was thinking maybe Hammersmith because of location, but have never been there and have no idea what the area is like. Thanks!
Hammersmith is good. I'd also suggest Richmond. I can't remember specific places, but there's a ton of stuff to choose from and it's a good meeting point between Heathrow and Putney.
