How do you not look awkward in your pics? I am doing a workshop on self photography. I can't pose without looking like an idiot. I am going to pin some stuff tonight to try but oh god its bad. At this point I will never share my photography with the world.

Just be natural and smile. I can't stand the bloggers that are all pouty and trying way too hard to be some kind of model. They just end up looking angry and silly. I like to see people in their genuine element and get an idea of how clothes and scenery looks in real life. I think the photo class would be cool to learn new things.
And don't worry too much about how you look I give props to anyone willing to put themselves out there and blog
Haha. I loved my pose today. That was for everyone wondering how to wear their gold sperrys. I am not even going to blog. I am not that fashionable or interesting. I just want to be able to take pics off miss r and I where I am actually in them. But in order to practice I kind of have to pose. I pinned some cute ideas today. Tomorrow I will try some more. My first assignment is to take a pic in the same spot using 2 different poses to convey emotion. And then I can add photo shop effects to further enhance. That is not happening. 2 pics of myself that I feel OK about posting for other photographers is a good first goal. It's an awesome very creative class. It also will probably greatly boost my self confidence if I can get 1 pic of myself I like.
Call me boring but I do the same pose everyday. I just know my best angle and everything else just looks unnatural and weird. Maybe that's why I don't have a whole lot of followers. Oh wellz. *shrug*

This is where I am at too. I look back at my pics when I started and they just look awkward and make me shiver. I've just kind of learned that I will never be the artsy poser. So I just have the same poses over and over looking direct in the camera smiling. (I hate my non smile face) And even those are unnatural because why am I standing in the middle of my street? But yeah.
Do you guys take your own pics? I feel like that part is adding to the unnatural feeling as well.
I have to find a pose that works. Also while my outfit was adorable in real life (I think) it didn't photograph well and made me look boxy. Then you couldn't even see me trying to pose. Today I am going to find my own trademark pose.
Just don't do the gazing down or to the side look. Sometimes I wonder if they are contemplating existentialism or just posting an ootd.
I HATE that pose. What are you looking at? Are you pretending to forget that you're being photographed?
I like the blogs with just a few great photos of the outfit and details. I don't need to see a million straight on shots. Less is more, to me. I'm generally just scanning the pictures when I look at fashion blogs.
My weakness as a "fashion" blogger is that since I do use the tripod I have trouble getting shots of details like accessories and shoes because it's hard to get the damn camera to focus correctly. But then again I'm really a minimalist when it comes to accessories anyway so it's not like I have a whole lot of details to zoom in on. So I will say that is one plus to having somebody take your photos.
I hate taking pictures of myself. I just never feel like they capture what I look like. I'm usually making a weird face or the angle is funky. It doesn't help that I really don't have a good way to take a picture of myself. I dunno... maybe I'm just not photogenic.
I usually end up taking a million shots and then just pick the one that looks the best, the most like me.

Yep. I should totally post some of my out takes some time on my blog. Some of them are horrible. Hair in my face. Skirt flying over my head. Lose cows in the parking lot. Ha. I usually take about 10 shots and then pick the best one.

OMG These definitely need to be posted. Crazy
The Aggie in the office usually has them wrangled by the time I get to the office. I'll try and take a few pictures of the babies. I hear there's a new one. It's a few days old. We used to have a cow I lovingly called Ferdinand. He would escape the pens and go hunting for rosemary. Then proceed to eat the rosemary. He was a gentle bull. But he plowed through our fence one too many times so our ag tenant finally moved him to another property.
