So I'm only 19 weeks, but I have DEFINITELY outgrown my bras. I'm still wearing them, but I'm popping out from every which way. I need to get some new bras, but I'm not sure what to get. I don't want to drop $50 on something I'll wear for one month and I'd rather not turn to nursing bras yet unless I absolutely need to because...well...they're not cute, and I've been feeling kind of good about the way I look (which is kind of refreshing!). What did you guys do?
I haven't bought any nursing bras. I actually got my daily ones at walmart because I wanted something cheap without padding. They're not bad. I went up 1 cup and 1 band size so try on first. I tried on at target and kohls but didn't like any.
Measure at home if you can to get an idea of what size you need to maybe move up to. I bought cheap bigger bras at TJMaxx & Ross- as well as band extenders to work with some of my pre-pg bras. My boobs have grown an absurd amount so I've just purchased one or two bras at a time to work for the time being.
The band seems to be ok for me right now. I'm usually a 30/32 band, and I've been wearing the 32 on the smallest to middle hook. It's the cups that are out of control though. I haven't been measured yet, but if I had to guess I'd say I'm probably up two cup sizes. I'm hoping I can find something that fits in my size. I gotta admit I'm kind of liking the bigger chest right now, LOL! But I can't imagine what these babies will look like in a few months!
Nordstrom Rack. I've gone up in band size a bit (which could have been solved with an extender), but went up at least 3 cup sizes. The Rack is nice, because they usually carry a variety of the larger cup sizes, in decent quality. I think I was paying around $20/bra. I had the best luck with a couple of Calvin Klein's.
I would either check out Rack if you have one or search online for a cheap bra in the right size, assuming you need a cup bigger than D (maybe DD) that you could find in most stores.
I'm a huge proponent of good bras, but I vote just buy something cheap for now.
I know you said you wanted cute bras, but the only kind that are comfortable to me right now are non-underwire with thick straps, so not exactly cute. I'm not sure what brands I got but I bought them at Kohl's; they had a decent selection of bigger sizes at reasonable prices.
i bought extenders, but honestly, they didn't help me b/c all my growth is in the cup size. i'm up 2 sizes now at 17w4d. i'm just praying they don't increase any more before birth.
i'm a 32ddd now, which is a tough size to find, so i just spent $$$ on some quality, supportive underwire bras. it's made all the difference for me. i no longer feel self conscious, the bras actually fit me and support my breasts. i figure i'll get a lot of use out of them post partum too as the boobs shrink back down.
ETA: I got Chantelle bras - they are definitely pretty (at least to me!) so that helps too!
genet313 I'd guess that's where I am right now too. I'm still wearing my 32D bras, but they aren't working. I'm spilling out the top, bottom and sides and have imprints from the bra when I take it off. The band feels file, so I don't think the extenders will be any help.
I will have to go out and try some bras this week. I have a bday discount to VS, so I may just check them out since I think they carry 32DDD now and I should be able to get one for not much money.

I'll check Nordstrom Rack too.
yep, this is exactly where i was. the extenders were cheap so i don't feel bad that i tried them, but they just didn't work for me. going up a cup size was the best thing. good luck shopping!
Well I decided to go to Macy's to get some new bras since they were having the whole donate $5 to the March of Dimes and we'll take 25% off your order.
Tried on about 5 different brands and various styles of 32DDD. All too small. Ending up getting this one in a 32G!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in disbelief!
However, it may be the best money I've spent because I feel so much more comfortable. Hopefully these last for the next few months before I have to switch to nursing bras.
I went to Kohls when I was 19 weeks pregnant, because the poor girls were literally popping out of my regular bras. I picked up 3 full coverage bras (2 nude, 1 of which was racerback since it was early summer, and 1 black). I was in between sizes, so I went up rather than down. I went from a 32c to a 38c, and the fit and comfort is so much better.
I had to get new bras around that same time because I was so uncomfortable. I went to Nordstrom rack and got 4 bras, 2 nudes, 2 dark colors. Worth every penny.
