This actually makes me a bit sad. I was hoping they'd do things differently. And after just 8 weeks of being married??? She's like a day pregnant before announcing. That's crazy!
She has been married for eight weeks and four days (yes, I just looked) and has to be at least eight weeks and three days pregnant if she is due in March (and that would be March 31), like the article says.
On the one hand, they're 23 and 25 so they're not as young as some of the Quiverfull couples who have kids right away after getting married ... On the other hand they just got married! And according to their religion they can't be alone together before marriage so they barely even know each other that well.
I wonder if they'll choose all names starting with the same letter, too.
I wish they would've had more fun as just a couple together. At least a year if not 2.
I'm trying to do the math on this...
"About 30 days after Jill and Derick got married they gathered everyone in the living room and shared the news," Jim Bob, 49, tells PEOPLE. "Everyone was clapping and cheering, and we were in shock, too."

I'm certainly no Duggar fan, but I'm not surprised at all by the early announcement. The world knows allllllll about her mom's uterus, so it's "normal" for her to have everything be so open. I mean, I wouldn't take a test with my family waiting, but their family operates much differently than mine.

I think, if I remember correctly, they had been writing and skyping one another for a year or so. I think they actually knew each other fairly well, in that sense, and seemed to have genuine affection for one another.
I DO think that perhaps they messed around before getting married. It just seems way too early to announce it to the world. I don't know.

Haha I guess the math is they announced as soon as the pee was dry on the stick, or they're going to have a really big "preemie." Although I really think it's the first one, because that's how this family operates.
I worked from home on Monday and watched my first ever full episodes of this show. I totally understand why people get overly invested. I was fascinated.
Also, I think this is what they want so I'm happy for them. It's a really early announcement though and that worries me. I feel like if she should lose the pregnancy it's going to be hard enough to deal with in that family environment. She doesn't need the paparazzi watching too.
