My mom did the ice bucket challenge on Sunday, and nominated me. I ignored it, and thought no more of it.
Yesterday at lunch my mom texted me out of the blue, "Are you ok?" I text back, "Yeah, what's up?" I was confused because I have no reason not to be ok. Her response was, "I haven't heard from you since I nominated you for the ice bucket challenge two days ago."
Ummm, yeah, I'm ok. My mom and I have a somewhat strained relationship and only speak a few times a month as it is so going two days with no contact is normal for us. She has neglected to call me on some of my birthdays, on Christmas, when my grandma was in the hospital, but now something important like the ice bucket challenge happens and I must respond. LOL.
So for all of you MMers who have been ignoring these facebook requests, you may want to think otherwise! People may think there's something wrong with you if you let these important requests from your friends go by unacknowledged! This is serious business.
The best response I have seen is this "So much wasted water with this ice bucket challenge, there will have to be a water conservation challenge next, only kidding...."
My dad's GF nominated me and my husband (and my husband isn't even friends with her on FB). My dad texted me to tell me to make sure to check her FB page. I posted that I'm donating and then some information about ALS for awareness since my dad made such a BFD about it.
I am getting a little tired of seeing it all over facebook but I would like to offer a big "Thank you" to David Beckham for doing the ice bucket challenge without a shirt on. (kiss)
